Are there any Bakersfield Area High Schools & Coaches still needing and/or looking for available Coaches? At this point, the level does not matter. Just asking if there's any spots available.

Great job Kennedy High School on your first win! Great to hear that you've gotten your first one.

Jackie S,
You better be accurate on that. You've been wrong before when speaking of the "U". I don't know what's happening over there. But I do know some coaches over there, and the one's I do know have said nothing yet.

Two coaches from champs convicted on possession charges

OCVARSITY.COM
Two football coaches of the Santa Margarita state championship football team were convicted of misdemeanor marijuana possession charges during the season, a spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney's office confirmed Thursday.

Both participated as Santa Margarita varsity football assistant coaches when the team won CIF-Southern Section and CIF State championship games this month.

Sean Coen, who coaches Santa Margarita wide receivers and defensive backs, and Robert Hendricks, who also coaches defensive backs, pled guilty to two counts each of the possession charges, Farah Emami of the district attorney's office said. She said one count to each was dropped in Orange County Superior Court after each was sentenced on Sept. 15 to 90 days of jail time with the option to instead serve in a community work program, along with making a $500 donation to the Victim Wellness Emergency Fund and serving 18 months probation.

Records show that Coen, Hendricks and Charles Spann were arrested Dec. 14, 2010 and charged with felony cultivation of marijuana and possession for sale of marijuana. Emami said investigators discovered a marijuana-growing operation in the garage of a San Juan Capistrano residence where Coen and Hendricks were living. She said the investigators found three mature marijuana plans, 229 immature plants, watering and lighting systems, five one-gallon bags of dried marijuana with a combined weight of one pound and a pay-owe notebook that included a listing of marijuana dispensaries. She said Coen and Hendricks were at the residence and arrested there.

Emami said charges subsequently were reduced to misdemeanor possession.

Santa Margarita principal Ray Dunne said the school administration was aware of the arrests and convictions. Dunne said Coen and Hendricks were disciplined, but declined to give details because it is a school personnel issue.

Santa Margarita coach Harry Welch said he also was aware of the situation.

"They are assistant coaches in good standing with the school, with me and with the Diocese," said Welch, who declined to comment further. Santa Margarita is a Diocese.

Hurd,
Thank you for your help clearing that up. People need to let things go. Washington is about to do something no other Central Section Team has done. And the Panthers want to rep the Valley well.

Dear Commissioner,

Tomorrow is selection Sunday for CIF BOWL PARTICIPANTS. The Commissioners have their work cut out for them. There's no denying that. But I hope you're prepared to fight for Washington Union. IT'S NOW TIME FOR THE CENTRAL SECTION! We understand so many things come into play here with regards to selecting a team. BUT IT'S NOW TIME FOR THE CENTRAL SECTION! Please go in that meeting ready to defend your section. Washington Union is ready to represent the school, the community of Easton, the city of Fresno, the Central Section, and the entire San Joaquin Valley. And the Panthers deserve this! Not certain what situation Bakersfield HS is in. But if they're close, then shoot fight for us both.

Contrary to what's been said about coming to Easton, you'll be fine. D-4 Junkie has part of it right. Visitors bleachers are metal. But there are extra wooden field bleachers now on the track. Snack bar on the visitors side yes. I recommend parking across from the stadium. It's lighted.  Soccer team provides parking and supervision. I recommend buying food from the softball team in that parking lot as well. They make burritos there and they're pretty damn good. You'll be heckled maybe. But heck, I've been heckeled at other stadiums too. That's just Friday night football. Welcome to the " TINY" community of Easton and Washington Union Wasco Fans. This is the Valley Championship! We'll be very good hosts. But please, the most important thing. PLEASE DRIVE SAFE. NO DRINKING AND DRIVING! EVERYONE NEEDS TO BE BUCKLED UP. AND DRESS WARM! Youll be in the Country where the wind blows.

Ok BULLDOGS! IF YOU SAY SO!

The Coaches and Players at WU are not thinking nor worried about the State Bowl Games. They're living out their playoff theme of "ON TO THE NEXT GAME!" Right now the next game being Wasco High School. WU is only focused on that and winning a Valley Championship. And it shows at their practices. Ive enjoyed watching their playoff practices lately. They are clicking now together more than ever. Fridays game will be fun.

My Wife's has a Cousin who works at the Cheesecake Factory and confirmed twice to me this morning that Neuheisel was having dinner there last night. Does it mean anything? We'll see.

Imonkiller,
COMPLETELY FALSE ACCUSATION! Was not one sided here. Coalinga was running their mouths too. Infact, the Fresno County Sheriff Deputies, Private Security,,WU Administrators, and WU Football Boosters were present outside while the Coaches were inside the locker room dealing with players, trainers, treatments, and other team related issues. Good job by both schools on getting things squashed. But do not fabricate anything further. If anything, both teams would be guilty of bumping their gums. The game is over. Let things go.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Since the playoffs have started, WU raised the level of their focus and intensity. They're on a "NEXT GAME ATTITUDE". The win over Coalinga was a short celebration. It's over. Onto the next game now. That next game is against Wasco now. Better get there early Friday night. I have a feeling WU is going to put on a show.

Koalingon,
Really? You have to come better than that. How are you going to congratulate WU and then spread a stupid rumor in the very same sentence? That's not even classy. That would be like someone saying "SUCKS TO BE U"! Better get have a clue from here on out. Because S - - T JUST GOT REAL LAST NIGHT! Fact is, you guys came in a got SMACKED in the face!

That's CMAC for those keeping score.
