Coach Gutierrez

Tim DeRuyter is out as Fresno State's HC.

30-30, and hasn't done much with his people and recruits.

Where to the bulldogs go from here, and who do they go after?

Just_A_Fan

Maybe Pat would come back :)

Just kidding, doubt that's a good idea at this point.

They need to find a HC who can recruit "players" and doesn't just look at eye candy. We've seem to be getting players that look good to the eye but aren't producing when they hit the field.  Now some of that can be coaching and play calling, no doubt, but not all.  Hate to go back to Pat, but he used to bring in kids that didn't always meet the eye candy test but were tough, smart players that produced, or were coached up to produce.  They didn't always win, but they made damn sure the other team knew they had been in a battle when the game was over....haven't really seen that the last several year.

Most inside sources are stating Jeff Tedford is the early odds on favorite.  DeRuyter is a super good guy, but he simply failed at recruiting.  Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

I heard last year when the season ended that Tedford would be the guy in 2017 if Deruyter was gone after this season. A friend who used to work for scout.com told me this.

Sure looks like it has been in the works for a while..... Tedford worked with Bartko at both Oregon and Cal...  Kiesau comes in as OC from Alabama, but the guy was an Asst. Coach at Cal with Tedford, and apparently he was more of Bartko's hire than DeRuyter's...AND he is hired at FSU just a couple of weeks after Tedford resigns from the BC Lions to get back to college football.... THEN when DeRuyter is let go, it is Kiesau who gets the Interim job not one of the other coaches...

now all this COULD be coincidental... but that is a LOT of coincidences..

This is all 100% & definitely not a coincidence.

Should have happened last year...zero coat tails to ride!!

Re Tedford...so what else is new coaching is an incestuous lot...everyday occurance.  Getting FSU AD from Oregon was not an accident there was a plan on, where do we go from here.  That is exactly why they hired him.
Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.

How about Chris Clieman at North Dakota State??  May as well look.  Tedford and Kiffen are what the press is saying.

On the other hand Kieseau is a SoCal local Glendale High and Glendale JC so he must have family there???

Klieman took over for Craig Bohl after he won 3 national championships & went to Wyoming. He's an interesting option for sure. But he has zero connections to California & the Central Valley. It seems like that was a major point from the Bartko in the press conference.

I hope Tedford gets the job.  He'll recruit better.  He's a winner.

He is Cal's ALL-Time Winningest coach...

Fresno State will announce their decision on November 7th.

If that is true, that pretty much eliminates anyone who is currently coaching College Football.... Tedford is a "consultant' with UDub... soooooo that would support the Tedford theory

He is Cal's ALL-Time Winningest coach...

He is also Cal's All-Time Losingest Coach..... that comes with being the coach with the longest career at Cal... those folks have high turnover.

Because they already know it's going to be Tedford. They just had to wait 14 days to accept applications because of the state laws requiring them to do so since they're a state school.

Tedford dismissed the entire coaching staff.

No surprise. I would have liked to see tight ends coach Joe Bernardi return in some role.
