Chain Gangs

Should the NFL, and soon-to-follow NCAA, do away with chain gangs and start using optical tracking?

I say no for the same reason I think umps should call balls and strikes.

I too think that umps should call balls and strikes, I'm ok with keeping chain gangs but after the 2010 debacle where the TRAC officials crew botched the call when CW used an illegal punt formation against the Drillers, that some could argue changed the course of the game in favor of the CW Golden Eagles.

Speaking of chain gangs...what ever happened to the "dicker-rod."  It was a device used in either World Football League or USFL to measure first downs, that did not involve a chain.
When the Anthill lived in Vegas he had to have his attorney send a cease and desist letter to the USFL for using the Ant porn name..."The Human Dicker-Rod."
