Quote from: TeddyKGB on Yesterday at 10:58:44 AMThis is a tough one, because I think there is a place for transfers. Like most things in todays society unfortunately we have overcorrected. I believe that kids should get to transfer without consequence if its a true and legitimate reason.

Easier said than done.  Rules create exceptions.  Over time, the exceptions consume the rule.

The only way this works is to have objective standards with zero discretion at the CIF.  You either check the boxes, or you don't.

As soon as you start looking at individual cases, hardships, legitimacy, etc..., things get fuzzy. We need to remove all subjectivity and restore sanity.

Back when we all used to live on the same planet and exercised common sense, these things were not problems.  But in an age where there are no absolutes, and we cannot even agree on the definition of a woman, there is no room for subjectivity, especially when we are allowing a 16-year-old kid (and their obsessed fathers) to make such fundamental decisions.

While we're at it, I think we should raise the legal voting age to 21 and require some competency test.

They are locked in on the psychs...still trying to organize for the teachers is my understanding

Quote from: Cristobal on Yesterday at 10:44:16 AMI would say its a combo of #1, see all the JD Salles comments in Baseball section and we all remember the Austin Kemp text messages that went viral a few years ago. The other not listed is the wacky Mom's and Dad's that think there kid is going D1 and is 5' 10". Look back at a great kid like Fortenberry who was suppose to go to CE but left and went to Central and then SJM and then CW. No disrespect but he probably works at Dick's also, why?

LOL. Those wacky moms and dads convincing their mediocre kids that they are better than they are and paying people top dollar to tell them that they're a D1 prospect. You're talking about Buchanan right??

Quote from: Cristobal on Yesterday at 10:38:35 AMIf only we could go back to old days when you couldn't transfer and this would all have been avoided. There are too many names to count of kids who went here or there because they have parents that want assurances. Most of those names never even sniffed a D1 roster as a result. Stay home, work hard and maybe stop listening to your parents lol

Quote from: izne1home on Yesterday at 09:40:39 AMWe might want to stop and define "recruiting" in the context of high school athletes.

It is somewhere between:
1.  actively reaching out to a targeted player (or group, e.g. o-linemen) and facilitating the CIF process,
2.  to posting 'now hiring' signs,
3.  to just having so much mojo that you've created a vacuum and players just show up.
