In my opinion coach Blate was the best, most successful girls BB coach in the valley. He will be highly missed as both a coach and a person. I might be wrong, but I think at one point he won 4 consecutive section titles. He over the years was moved up from D-IV to D-3 to D-II. For such a small school as YHS was, I think that's pretty remarkable. I hope I got my facts correct.

Off Topic / Racist or not?
March 22, 2021, 10:34:45 AM
I received this email from a friend and part of me agrees and part of me says it's racist. Maybe it's only partially racist. Opinion please.

Time is like a river.  You cannot touch the water twice, because the flow that has passed will never pass again.  Franklin Graham was speaking at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville , Florida , when he said America will not come back.  He wrote:  * "The American dream ended "

Yes, the American dream ended -- The first term of  Joe Biden has been the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest republic in the history of mankind.  The very history and hard work of these founding fathers has totally been discounted and often totally removed by the "cancel culture".

A coalition of blacks, Latinos, feminists, gays, government workers, union members, environmental extremists, the media, Hollywood , uninformed young people, the "forever needy," the chronically unemployed that do not want to work , illegal aliens and other "fellow travelers" have ended.........Norman Rockwell's America.

You will never again out-vote these people.  It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away.  It will take zealots, not moderates and shy, not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status.

People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will probably never again be able to legally comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.

The Cocker spaniel is off the front porch, the pit bull is in the back yard, the American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and the likes of Chicago shyster David Axelrod along with international socialist George Soros have been pulling the strings on their beige puppet and have brought us Act 2 of the New World Order.

The curtain will come down but the damage has been done, the story has been told.

Those who come after us will once again have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to white guilt and political correctness.."

To me, the scariest thing about a Biden win is the history of vice presidents going on to win the POTUS position. Can you imagine Kamala Harris as the president?

Can I add to this?
I never cared about your posts until you plagiarized someone else and tried to pass it off as your own.
At no point have I claimed to be the originator of this. I just passed along a quote that expresses my feelings.

All of a sudden football takes a backseat. We keep receiving severe pre-evacuation warnings from the sheriffs department. We're packed and ready. I packed my guns, ammo and clean under drawers in our suv, so I'm good to go. My wife has a few more bags than I do of course. Bad juju going on up here.

Off Topic / I have no more tolerance left
August 17, 2020, 10:27:57 AM
I haven't posted in a long time, but feel the need to. I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this, but here goes.

My tolerance is running out!!
I never cared what color you were until you started blaming me for your problems.
I never cared about your political affiliation until you started to condemn me for mine.
I never cared where you were from until you began condemning people based on where they were from.
I have never cared if you were well off or poor because I've been both and until you started calling me names for working hard and bettering myself.
I've never cared if your beliefs are different than mine. Until you said my beliefs are wrong.
I've never cared about your beliefs until you wanted to kill me if I did not adopt your beliefs.
I've never cared what a 2% group did until they started to tell the 98% what they must do.
Now, I've given all the tolerance I have to give. Your odd behavior is your problem. You need to adapt to living with the 98%. I am in the 98% and have no need to change my behavior or opinion to make you happy. In fact, I will not do so.
I am not guilty of anything for telling you these things.
Like you, I also have freedom of speech. I have been too patient too long. Now I'm out of patience.

I just read in our local paper that both head coaches at Yosemite & Minarets have resigned. Both programs seems to be in good shape.

Central Section Football / Porterville vs Golden West
September 21, 2019, 10:22:47 AM
I woke up this morning still laughing. I watched the Porterville/Golden West game on FNR & never in all my years of watching football have I ever seen a personal fowl called on the waterboy & tossed from the game. I sure would like to know why. :D

I just want to say thanks to all veterans who served our country. Is there anybody else on this forum who was in and around Saigon in 67, 68 & 69?

Once again, what socialists are you speaking of? Lmao. Didn't know there was a politician in power who advocates for seizure of the entire means of production and major industries to hand them over to their workers? Please let me know so I can donate to their campaign.
You sir, need to head to South America and apply for Venezuelan citizenship. You will then be in a political atmosphere you desire.

Off Topic / Elderly texting
March 03, 2019, 08:06:28 PM
An elderly couple learned to send text messages on their new phones. The wife, a retired college English instructor with emphasis on the classics, was an unapologetic romantic. Her husband, a retired salty Navy Chief Petty officer of 30 years service, was a no-nonsense guy. One afternoon the wife went to the local Starbucks to meet a friend for coffee. While awaiting her friend's arrival, she exercised her new texting skill by sending her husband a romantic text message.

"If you are sleeping, send me your dreams. If you are laughing, send me your smile. If you are eating send me a bite. If you are drinking, send me a sip. If you are crying, send me a tear. I love you."

The husband responded: "I'm taking a sh*it. Please advise."

I did a lot of research & it shows that the GOP back in the day (Reagan, etc.) supported the LEGALIZATION of immigrants & did NOT throw bunches of money at or encourage & aid the illegals. Almost all of the funding for illegals come out of California's budget. In all of my research I could not find any reference to money the GOP gave to illegals. Gov Brown requested $1,000,000,000, that's right, Billion, for illegals aid. Do not even try to compare the GOP's stance on illegals to the Democrats. Also the illegal situation back then was not even close to what it is today.

The California Dems are the ones throwing free food at the racoons & giving them free basement living.

Wow! Yosemite 70 - Shafter 17. Not bad for a small school of 650 students forced to play D-2 ball. Go Badgers. Next game will be a tough one against Garces.
