so.... late to the CW party, but my potentially unpopular two cents...   

Yes the CW Boosters used to raise money like none others, but they spent it too... and sometimes those bashes were pretty over the top...  then, the real hidden damage of the coaching carousel was bringing in guys from outside the District who had done NOTHING to raise those funds, had no vested interest in the stewardship of those funds, and did NOTHING to support the replenishment but spent money like a Trust Fund baby...  I saw some of those Nike invoices and it was ridiculous.. they mortgaged the future to pay for their year (then hightailed it back to Texas or wherever)... 

Then the perfect storm hit all at once... 2008 economic downturn made everyone more tight with their donations... CW Admin saw those same Nike invoices took at more active role in the raising and disbursement of funds which alienated some donors...CUSD, also hit with Economic realities, "Golden Handshakes" a whole bunch of experience teachers, coaches and administrators and the culture shifts...  Clovis North becomes the flavor du jour amongst the monied & white flight heads that way (both students AND CW staff), further impacting fundraising and culture... CUSD landlocks CW, which now has the lowest enrollment (and therefore budget) of any CUSD high school  (the TRUTH...it is closer in size to CLARK and ALTA SIERRA, two year middle schools, than it is to CLOVIS and BUCHANAN)...  and that is all outside the coaching hires ... CW lets the coaching pendulum swing too far in the other direction and, though MP was exactly the right coach for the 2010 Valley Champions (statistically one of CW strongest teams ever... but destined to be forgotten because it lacked one of the "marquis" CW coaches.. but I'm biased) and then follows up a "good guy" coach with the exact same guy, only with different initials...  sheeesh...   

And people wonder why CW has struggled.

I believe that's correct.. BUT.. that number is JUST BOYS... so assuming an even mix of genders, that's equivalent to a 2,000 student public.

Buchanan has picked up a home game vs De La Salle on 9/21. The Spartans were supposed to play a game in Utah but apparently the travel details fell through. I'm not sure if Buchanan had an available date or if they dropped someone.

One of my biggest car regrets is selling my FJ62 .... and it would cost me more now to replace it and anything reasonable has been either beat to death or hamhandedly modified.

How about this law on the books, National Anthem Code... Look it up... 36 U.S. Code 301 National Anthem!!! Before you trash our flag and our Americans that have and still fight for our rights, do your job and educate those who are less informed.

Looks to me like that "law" is more of a suggestion.....

I see standing for the flag is an act of solidarity....  I see kneeling for the flag as an acknowledgement that, as great as the USA is, we could still do better in providing "liberty and justice for all".

Here are the real reasons why Clovis West has underachieved in the last three years.  #1 The defenses have been below average to mediocre under Petrosan's.........sure, recent Golden Eagle championship teams have been offensive juggernauts.....but with top notch defensive units.  #2 Specifically speaking of the defensive woes.........the D ends are to slow to play a 30 front......think back to the last two CW VC teams and the speed of the DE's. (Lewis and Flores) they are prototype HS 30 front DE's (they played in a 30 stack defense, not a 3-4)....and ran to the ball like skill people.  #3 Under Petrosan's Clovis West has shown no propensity or desire to run the football.....they have not had a a real dominant OL.....nor a play making RB since he took over. They do get yards on the ground, but it mostly comes through their QB's pulling the ball on zone reads or scatting the pocket when plays breakdown.  If your are going to win a VC......what are the three things you must have......#1 a championship defensive unit............#2. dominant line play (both O and D) preferably seniors that have been weight trained for 4 years ............#3 ability to run the football on a consistent basis (not just as a novelty). Teams that rely on athletic QB's to turn chicken crap in to chicken salad......rarely win valley titles.........they go 7-5 or 8-4.   That's how the Anthilllegend sees it.
