my guess is that if ND signs another big TV contract they will not join a conference in football because they won't want to to part with the money regardless if it helps other school to land a bigger TV deal as a conference...that is a common theme with the catholic organization

They run the risk of never seeing the playoffs. They will not be that influential if not in power conference.

I would think the 4 power conferences will get their champion in, so ND is out.

Six highest ranked conference champions & 6 high ranked at large teams will make up the 12 team playoff. The top 4 highest ranked conference champions will have a first round bye. The remaining 8 teams will be seeded 5 to 12 with seeds 5 through 8 hosting in the first round.

Just read on Twitter (you decide if X is real), Washington St and Oregon St are probably getting dumped in the Mountain West.
PAC12 did meet to discuss their TV deal. LOL They only had Apple TV as an option. Money is contingent on subscriptions.
Arizona met last night to move. They are pretty much gone.
PAC12 only had Apply Tv. that is an embarrassment.

The other issue is, Pac12 is not a rich conference. In order for them to add Boise, SDSU, UNLV, Fresno, it's 37m for each school to buy out of their conference. Again, Larry Scott ran this conference off a cliff.

Whether officially one conference, or shared TV rights, etc. Pac 12 said no thanks. One year later, UCLA and USC announced their move to the big10, and the Pac12 called the big12 with egg on their face. Big 12 commish said no, and the call was all of two minutes

Just to add to this story, Cal Berkley said no to the merger. Cal is a nobody school and they screwed the whole conference. When was the last time Cal won any national titles or Pac titles.

they are the back to back Men's rowing national champs...maybe that wields a lot of influence and power in the PAC12, after watching izne and theanthill sashay around Caesars Palace and hear  the cocktail waitresses whisper in awe that "those two old fat bald guys are with the CW Boosters" nothing surprises me anymore.
