Baseball / His Time Has Come
November 27, 2018, 10:24:44 AM
I've said it for quite awhile now, and the time has finally arrived, but Cesar Ortega has recently been named the head coach at Templeton High School.  I think this is a great get for the Eagles.  Cesar has been around many legendary coaches (Siramarco, Rold) and is definitely ready to take over his own program.  Good luck to Coach Ortega and the Ortega family.

After the D3 title in 2017 and a perfect season thus far in 2018, is Anthony Gosten a candidate to move up to a D1 school?  Talking specifically in CUSD, should there be any movement...

Any word on who will be taking over at the helm for the Vikings?  Will they promote from within?

Central Section Football / Simons and Kellom
January 12, 2012, 07:13:52 AM
What are the chances that either Tim Simons or Larry Kellom surface with any of the current job openings?  Personally, I think it is more likely that Kellom still has the burning desire to be a head coach again...we shall see.

Central Section Football / Tulare's playoff seeding
November 05, 2011, 09:27:39 AM
After the loss to Mission Oak, what will this do to Tulare's playoff seeding?  Had they won out they might have been looking at a 4 or 5 (based on the CIF's seeding criteria)....but I think this is a very damaging loss for the Redskins playoff seeding.  I bet they will be placed in the 7-9 range now and could be looking at a first round match up with Buchanan or Clovis West.

A lot has been said of CW having a "down" year, but let's say it enters the playoffs at 2-8, with wins over Buchanan and Clovis East...who wins if they have a playoff game with an undefeated Tulare team?  Why or why not...and who would be the favorite?

I realize that 0-6 isn't the norm in Eagle land, but when you really dissect the schedule and the losses, they've only played 3 central section teams and held late leads in games with Bullard and Clovis North.  The Edison game never really was in doubt.  With a cupcake schedule, CW would have a respectable record and we'd still be talking about them being  contenders.  Everyone is counting them out, and winning it all this year is probably a long shot at best.  However, if they learn how to finish games, I wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs...

Just wondering if I can get some "FACTS" from the Clovis North-Bullard Frosh game today.  Any insight on the game would be greatly appreciated.

JV and Youth Football / Madera-Bullard Frosh
October 24, 2006, 01:57:24 PM
Can anyone shed some light on the possibility of a Bullard-Madera frosh showdown if both teams end up undefeated?  I know it has been talked about on here, but is this a real possibility?
