Ridgeview is a bunch of classless punks, the post game antics are an embarrassment

Tays Dad the game was on television. I watched the game. Croney was Croney. White did his thing. But the defense was something that was not found. Neither team tackled particularly well. But not getting the 4th and 1 TD was a huge turning point along with White going out. There was chippiness from both sides, but mostly after the play was over from Ridgeview. I heard many of their fans booing and saying, "You coach that stuff!" I've heard it quite often that Manning doesn't discipline his players properly. This particular game was another example. I can understand the level of frustration to get that far be ahead at half. Not give the ball to Croney at the 1. Leave your QB hung out to dry. Then to give up 3-4 questionable pass interferance calls and a fumble touchback that was called down at the 1. But, when the game is over let cooler heads prevail. I was shocked just as any their coach called off the hand shakes.

I was at this game, GHF is right, that Croney not getting the ball at the one yard line was the turning point.
Ridgeview did get very frustrated towards the end, especially, when REV scored the last TD.

Were they booing Flex? Why wouldn't the REV coach shake hands?

didn't see the end, only what i've read on here and from zach ewing. sad to say, that's been ridgeviews rep for a while. i felt the same way when i was coaching and we played them. when the coaching staff is throwing, excuse the language, bitch fits after the game "shaking hands", how do you expect the players to react?

from zach ewing twitter:

"Here's quote from REV coach Kurt Bruich: 'I don't want to shake their hands. we were getting cheap-shotted so bad towards the end and it wasn't going to stop. At that point, it's not going to be good for us and go over shake hands with guys who are still running their mouths. I try to teach my team to be classy, and I got a couple of their coaches apologized and said they were embarrassed. That kind of tells you in a nutshell."

Tays Dad did you see any of the late hits after the whistle blew? There was a crack back block that #52 and another lineman made that creamed their guy but it was fully legal. I might understand if it was not legal. But that play was legal. To whine about that one is out of touch.

Apparently the REV fans played a role. From B Varsity Louis Amestoy, "I've never been around a fan base that was as nasty as the one I experienced tonight. I do not believe it was reflective of everyone there. All the positives of covering Mission Hills-BHS from the environment to the game were a stark contrast to this nasty affair. That may have been the most sordid football game I've ever covered. Horrendous REV fans, a weird chippy ending and loads of bad behavior. At the Ridgeview game and dealing with the worst fan (Redlands) I've ever experienced."

GHF, sorry for the late reply, I was driving home, anyway the REV coaches were more upset than the fans, a lot of wrestling going on with the Rev Wrs vs the Wolf Pack Dbs, like I posted before once REV put that last TD on the board, Ridgeview got really frustrated, most penalties went against Ridgeview which was very frustrating for the Wolf Pack.
This was a very good game though, that play at the one yard line, was the play that change the game, when the Ridgeview got hurt, REV Won the fourth quarter.
To say the least, I was surprised that the REV coach basically, ordered his team not to shake hands.

RHS coaches were getting near physically assaulted by REV coaches right after the game. RHS team had to be escorted through the crowd by police because the home crowd was getting violent. Ridgeview played with an attitude, like always - but they didn't take anything beyond being hard nosed, aggressive players on the field. REV didn't like some of the big hits RHS laid on their players and were VERY vocal about it. Amestoy had it right, they were down right nasty people.

I watched a Ridgeview/Frontier game ... maybe West about four years ago and a couple players dad's talked about Mannings poor choices ... one of the players was a star quarterback ... But you gotta remember, this is high school and he's a high school coach ... ;)

Anybody know if the game is available to watch. Had a family commitment last night and apparently missed a whole bunch of excitement, as well as a great game.

I just checked on my U-Verse guide and it's not showing any other re-airing of the game.

Here is my take on the game and the incident. Both teams fought and battled hard. No doubt about it. Both wanted it. It was chippy towards the end. Lots of back and forth talk. This Ridgeview team lost it's cool. This thing happens when you go through the season unscathed and face very little adversity throughout the year. Especially in their patsy league that they should be out of. That's always been a beef of mine and I along with others have voiced that criticism. As this team could clearly compete at the D1 level. Manning does have a reputation out there in the public eye that isn't favorable and there are several examples of lack of sportsmanship, just this year. The BHS game the same kind of stuff was going on and BHS came to mid field and showed class and shook hands inspite of running through the Driller banner and the aftermath at the Driller bus. Ridgeview does play with an edge and that is fine during the game. But it's the sore attitudes, the hits after the whistle, the wrestling when defeat is inevitable that wreaks of a really bad smell. This kind of individual behavior should be handled on the spot and it doesn't. Now was REV completely not to blame. NO! Go back and look at the game and see how much chirping and extra hits on the bottom of a pile, wrestling they were doing. I blame the officials honestly. There is no excuse for a game to get out of hand. The lame pass interferance calls were soooo bad! And the fumble at the 1 yard line where they called the runner down was questionable and controversial. If the game was so out of control, than the officials should have called off the hand shakes. Not some arrogant coaching staff. That head coach came across like a combative whiny pissed off winner. What winning coach acts like that? And the fans that kept yelling you teach this stuff you were winning 59-34. Why were these fans, as Louis Amestoy characterized, nasty? For what reason? They won the game. You never allow a few bad players from spoiling true sportsmanship. So for that terrible move, I blame the REV coaching staff for not being the classy victor. Come on guys! If it was really that bad, players would be ejected and the officals would have done their jobs.

I wanted to add that I never saw the Ridgeview players, and coaches except their runner up awards either, maybe someone picked up their awards later, I dont know.
I did see the REV players, and coaches except their championship plaque, and then took pictures.

GHF, I agree with your post, yes, both schools fought hard, and it was a pretty good game, lots a speed on both sides.

Im not a Wolf Pack fan, but I think they were frustrated with the REV offensive linemen, REV linemen block like NFL professional linemen, if you know what I mean, you cant call it holding  8)

The REV lineman did some nice holding at times during the game that weren't called. You didn't see Ridgeview accept their runner up trophy because the other team's head coach told them to get off the field and go straight to their bus. What a baby! Shake their hand and be the bigger person and team. This coach was quoted as saying, "my team is classy." Well show it! Let Ridgeview screw up and squander their respect but at least allow that to happen. By not allowing the team on the field to shake hands and accept a trophy is just as bush league if not more than the cheap shots they say was all Ridgeview.

REV would never sign for games with any of our CS teams. Home and home? Nope.
Mission Viejo schedules us because of Bob Johnson's relationship with Cody Kessler and Bryan Nixon. He respects CS football. All are class acts. REV coach is not!

Let me preface this by saying I wasn't there and I know nothing about what may or may not have happened......but I will say this; The REV team has another game to play.....Ridgeview was done. If the REV HC was concerned about his players getting involved in an altercation that might hinder his team's chances at a state title, then I say he did the right thing! He protected his players from possible suspension for the next game.....
