Central Section Football / Pittsburg vs Liberty
December 05, 2021, 01:24:30 PM
:) watched the game high up in first deck home team side 50 yard line. Very good game well officiated few penalties first half. Liberty dominated ... 21-0 half and 35-7 final. Pittsburg scored with five or so minutes left 4th qtr.
Very methodical ... Pittsburg never really got their passing game going. Had some very good running backs but Liberty adjusted quickly.

Nixon made some mistakes in the second half but nothing drastic.

Serra (Gardena) at Saddleback CC next Saturday 4PM for State Title (1A?) ...

CS will be well represented in division championships!

This was brought up a couple weeks ago when someone predicted Central would win its four in a row this year ...

I believe the team to win four in a row was the Drillers. In fact they are the only ones to do so and did it more than once.

Strange as it sounds Liberty and Garces may indeed be co champions of SWYL!

Off Topic / Distance Learning
July 22, 2020, 12:06:23 PM
Thoughts on distance learning posted on FB earlier today.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but it's on my heart, so here goes.

Distance Learning and teaching remotely is never a first choice for any teacher ( or principal) I know. However, in these current times it seems to be the safest solution. When we left school on March 18th, a day that will forever be burned into my brain, none of us imagined it would be four months later and we still wouldn't be returning to normal. I'm sad, we're all sad, but it is what it is ( to quote a former colleague).

So here we are, about to open a new school year, and what are we doing to make this year successful for our students?  We are committed to teaching robust and engaging lessons, meeting with students daily, providing small group instruction, helping our students be successful, and having the best year possible. As an administrator, I will personally tutor kids if that's what it takes.

Yes, it's stressful, daunting, not what we signed up for...but we will make it work and we will do it well, or die trying, because we are all about the kids.

Speaking personally, I didn't enter this profession for easy, I did it because I wanted to make a difference in the life of a child. ❤️

Maybe I'm the one who needed the pep talk today. But if you're still reading this and you're a parent, communicate with your child's school. Trust, but be informed. We can do this...together. If you're a teacher, go do awesome things. I believe in YOU.
