Liberty @ Central: I'll be rooting for Liberty but I believe they are a big underdog. I don't believe Liberty has the guys that can match up with Centrals WRs. If you can't pressure Tompkins he will pick you apart, if Liberty brings pressure in the form of a blitz and doesn't get to Tompkins strike up the fight song.
I believe Central wins 42-24.

BCHS @ SJMHS: these two only have two common opponents one which is Kingsburg which I don't think is a good gauge as SJM played them week 1 and BCHS played them week 12. They both played garces. BCHS has some good athletes and from what I have read I have to pick SJM,
SJM 42 BCHS 28

Kennedy vs Shafter. I like Shafter in this rematch of SSL teams. They handled Kennedy in week 9, I have no doubt that Kennedy will be tougher this time around, its tough to beat a team twice in a season and all but Shafter has fire power on the offense and they are playing well. I like them I think they win and win big Shafter 49 Kennedy 21
Congrats to the remaining Kern County teams.
I agree with Teddy's picks.
Good luck.

thanks tays for updates, congrats to Liberty.

Bakersfield vs Orem
Orem comes into this game with two games already played. According to MaxPreps they are 1-1 having lost to what looks to be a good program. I don't believe that this team will be ready for the speed the Drillers have. The less than impressive performance against Edison I will chalk up to week 1 getting back to game speed.

Liberty at Ridgeview- Liberty will win and win big.

Clovis West at Centennial- This may be close for a while but I don't see CW dropping two in a row

Paso Robles at Frontier- Paso gets the win on the road

Stockdale at Independence-

garces vs. St. John Basco- HAHAHA running clock to start the second half, I won't be surprised if Basco scores 70+
Been on a hiatus, and when I come back to the preps, I see teddy is still hating on Liberty, lol

I pick the same picks teddy.

LOL, I'm surprised no one from Liberty has put hands on you, with all of your patriot help.

Coach, as you are a former HC and sounding like a HC once again, probably safe to say that you shouldn't respond to some of the drivel on the preps anyhow.  Most of us are idiots that don't know anything.  We are talking heads.  You will never see the greats of the valley like Simons, Shidans, and so on getting on the preps to say anything, and most of them probably don't even waste their time reading what is on here.  And if they do, it's to laugh at us why they are enjoying a cold one and make fun of us idiots while they are coaching kids up and winning ball games.  Take care of the kids at McFarland or wherever i'ts going to be, and let us idiot haters grovel around.
lol, I'm offended, most on here know exactly what's going on in the central section.
Coach I'm glad you respect knowledgeable posters on this site, continue to listen to the CVHSPrepsters, and you shall always shine.

Still on this topic really  ??? Let's see what happens next year maybe it can be a match up that we can discuss if sanger moves up to D1.  As for now couldn't happen both in different divisions end of dream match up. ....
Deez, lol, this topic is barely a week old. Lol, I don't mind crazy talk.

That "if Sanger moves up to D1" is funny to me, Let's just all agree that Sanger should never/ever be in D2.

Sanger had a great year, no doubt, Sanger fans are naturally going to be claiming for the mythical #1 in the central section title.

You are right, both BHS, and Sanger are in different divisions, so you could even argue that D2 Sanger might not have even made through the D1 playoffs.

Flex, you realize Del Oro is a D2 school with @ 1700 student population? Its not out of reason to have Sanger ranked #1...Especially after that beat down the Drillers received.
madstang, what are you saying?

Liberty, Centennial, and I'll even throw in Tulare Union are D1 schools with 1700 students.
Heck, lol, the way the central section do things, if Del Oro were to be in the CS, they could be placed D1, D2, or maybe D3.

I've posted many times, overall central section polls are meaningless, and useless.

Since central section polls are unofficial, and forced on to us, any VC school could claim to be the best in the CS, if they wanted to.
Example, see D4 Kingsburg from a few years back.

Those are magnificent stats and crazy that kid only got 2nd team, makes me curious as to what stats the first team kid put up?   Sometimes the All-League stuff can be somewhat political idk why :o.  If you remember last year Edison only won 3 games but had more all-leaguers and selected all-stars then pretty much any team out there.  That's crazy..a losing team leading the pack...
truth it's really not that crazy, the CMAC has schools in a league that cover four divisions.

With Edison, and Bullard being the only D1 schools in the CMAC, I could see how deciding who deserves what, can get skewed.

That year Edison finished 5-7, was 3-2 in the CMAC, and actually won a D1 playoff game.

IMO, The CMAC needs to be a D1 only league.

Interesting that you say that Flex, after all it was you who was screaming the D2 Ridgeview Wolfpack was #1 last year and the year before.  If anything it kind of reminds me of your thinking.  So it was ok for a Bakersfield school to make that claim but not for a central section team?
Lol, truth I can't even remember yesterday to falsify your claim about Ridgeview.

Let's put this on the record, I do not support anything Ridgeview, my sons were Patriots, and Drillers.

I have stated, and have been critical, for years, that Ridgeview should be in D1.

I agree with you 100%. But nothing this CIF & specifically the southern section does surprises me anymore.
Agreed CW, it's even more frustrating trying to get a grasp on the CIF televised games.
It should not be that hard to find your team, if the game is going to be televised, especially CIF playoff games.

As far as CUSD/Clovis East goes, If Clovis East wants to be D1 in the CS, I understand.
There are many central section schools who should think like that.

Then look a the way the CIF did the divisions for the state basketball playoffs for the south last year. They reseeded all the eligible teams & placed them in divisions. That's why Long Beach Poly was in D2, played a first round game AT Lemoore. The Jackrabbits eventually won the D2 State championship very easily.
CW, can't discuss divisional placement for basketball, it's all messed up.

For football, LB Poly is only a D1 school, and should never/ever be placed in D2, and that's for any sport.

If that's the case, IMO, every D1 school in the CS is D2.

Thats why the central section should be placed into the north for all sports.

Some interesting changes for some of the CIFSS teams ...

Likely Divisional changes:

Atascadero - D5
Paso Robles - D4/D5 (on the bubble)
Arroyo Grande - D2/D3 (on the bubble)

Calabasas - D1/D2 (on the bubble)
Long Beach Poly - D2
Oaks Christian - D1
San Clemente - D1
Sierra Canyon - D3
Paraclete - D4
Saint Bonnie - D3
If the southern section decides to move LB Poly, a school with 5000 students, down to D2.  I take back all my comments about the central section choices on divisional placement.

With that logic, the southern section would place/drop, Centennial, Stockdale, Frontier, and Clovis East down to D2. That's just ridiculous.

Ok guys, much has been said about who would win a dream match up between the Apaches and the Drillers.  #1 vs #2.  Both have dynamic offenses and many weapons, however I feel that Sangers superior defense would be able to shut down the BHS attack. Others think that BHS SOS is enough to give them the #1 ranking? There is a lot to debate here, what do you think?
Never considered this match up because Sanger is in D2, BHS D1.

My opinion is BHS is the #1 in the valley.

Since Sanger is hiding in D2, to think that D2 Sanger could win a D1 valley title are just stupid thoughts.

Kinda remind me of those delusional Kingsburg fans a few years back.
Kingsburg won a D4 VC, and then declared themselves to be the best in the valley.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Two great teams in different divisions.

This is true! HAHAHA
Flex did you see how many Jr and Sophomores where on the Drillers roster, just for starters :
Shane Jones
T. Jackson
C. Ochoa
C. Williams
J. McGill
T. Wright
A. Moreno
M. Lopez
C. Watkins

That's a pretty stout group
Yeah, BHS will be loaded for sure, good crop of kids.
Don't get to caught up though, 2012 season look very promising with young BHS studs, and then the bottom fell out.

I would never knock Sanger; but, it's tough to say how they would fare playing a tougher league/schedule.
Teddy of course you would never knock Sanger, you spend way to much time talking crap about my Patriots.
Lol, get over yourself.

Isn't all this speculation a moot pointless argument?

How about; "Wait'll next year!"

Who cares? D-1 VC The BHS

D-2 VC The Apaches ...

A Starbucks +\- ten bucks!
Dan, speculation is what makes this site so awesome.

Lol, Truth is wrong, and I had to check him.

And Dan it's "The BHS" respect it.

Next year, lol,  I'm already seeing Liberty reclaiming that VC trophy.

Flex, Ridgview was #1 last year above Liberty?  Why was it ok then but not now?
Didnt know Ridgeview was anointed #1 in the central section last year, and really dont care.

That championship Ridgeview team was very good last year, but could they have won a D1 VC last year? Who knows, and don't care.
I do know Liberty won the D1 valley championship. Thanks truth, for bringing that happy moment up.

truth, I'm not knocking Sanger, Sanger is very good, you've formed your own opinion, I respect that.

Lol, By the way truth, I'm biased, last year,  Liberty, #1 football team in the central section.

Lol, and I would never pick a North valley school over a South valley school.

With that being said Sanger also would have been 10-0 or at worst 9-1 if they played the same schedule BHS did.  But again, like Cal Preps says it all about the SOS.  But I believe it would be a very good match up between SHS vs BHS.  2 teams running the triple option omg
truth why speculate? Sanger competing in D2 says everything.

Sanger is good no doubt, but how can make it true that they are best in the CS?

I HATE to even admit this, it hurts me to the core, BHS, with a doubt is #1 in the CS.

Personally, I'm not wondering what Sanger could do in the Trac, because they don't.

I'm not wondering if Sanger could make it through a D1 playoff, win a D1 title, because they didn't.

IMO, BHS beating Central, the #1 team in the central section, speaks volumes.

I don't speculate where Sanger stands overall, when they compete in a lower division, it's just ridiculous.

Sanger had a great D2 season, they are champions, but let's be honest, there is no good reason (NONE!) why Sanger, a school with 3000 students, is in D2. That just crazy, and kinda sad.

Again, I have no beef with Sanger, there are many schools competing/hiding in lower divisions for no good reason.

If we were to do a poll, I'm betting there are at least 15 to 20 schools trying to take valley championships from more deserving central section schools. Sad.

Everyone wants to give credit to the coaches for turning the Selma program around...I'm sure they do deserve some of the credit but when you have a team with 30 seniors and playing at the D4 level odds are you're going to do pretty good. The one thing they didn't learn this year was how to coach and win in a tight game. Selma had a lead late in the game and should have put things on lock down. A fake field goal? That was mistake #1 that cost them and then going for the 2 point conversion was #2. They dominated most of the game and their odds of dominating in O.T. were in their favor. I was truly shaking my head in disbelief at some of the coaching decisions in that game. Congrats to B.C. because they never gave up. I hope they represent in the Finals.
Very refreshing post, totally agree, two thumbs up.
