Central Section Football / The TRAC turnaround
October 28, 2023, 01:33:28 AM
2023                                            2022
North 5-0  (TRAC CHAMPS)            Clovis West 4-1 (TRAC CHAMPS)
Central 3-2                                   Clovis North 3-2
Clovis East 3-2                              Buchanan 3-2
Clovis 3-2                                     Central 3-2
Clovis West 1-4                             Clovis 1-4
Buchannan 0-5                              Clovis East 1-4

Clovis North with the best turnaround and Clovis Air West with the worse. This is why we play the game. I was one of the guilty ones that crowned CW as champs early this year. Thought and playoff predictions?
#4
I was guilty of saying West was one of the top teams coming back. Well after tonight West looked horrible. This is the second year where Central had their number on both sides of the ball. Clearly when its the same type of style of play Central wins. The 4 D1 offered plays looked terrible and the run game once again was non existent. Central looked rough as well but they shut #Airwest passing attack down the first half. (14-3) Leads me to the question. With #beardown nation being so bad.... was Clovis West all smoke and mirrors??? They struggled against Lemoore and Bullard Lost to St Mary's and damn near lost to everyone in the TRAC. Looks like they missed their opportunity and wont get another really good team like this one again

I first need to stand correct in picking the Bears to win the game last night against the Grizzlies. Historically they have always been able to run the ball. Last night looked pitiful. The score was 0-0 at half listening to the chatter of parents on how they say the staff has lost the players. I of course take that with a grain of salt. Start of second half they score but it looks even worse. What happened to Buchanan when you use to be that team that dominated the trenches. No more hash tags when the worse play is from the QB and the QB coach is doing the most talking. It was a recipe for disaster when you cant successfully run the football and you don't have the guys to get open or the QB to get them the ball. There are some major problems. The future doesn't look to bright either if we input the JV score with the Grizzles crushing the Bears 58-6 running clock in the second quarter

Central made a QB change and it looks like it was for the good. The starter couldn't get anything going. The backup came in again at half and gave the Grizzlies the spark they needed. Biggs as the QB whisper needs to see this is his guy. The defense still has gaping holes and will definite be a problem these next three weeks. These next three games will tell you what Central team you are getting but one things for sure. That defense is not stopping League champs Clovis North. Offensively they need to correct their turnover mistakes and get it started early. Looks like every game this year they started extremely slow then turned it on at half time .

Central Section Football / Without a doubt in the TRAC
September 30, 2023, 02:15:20 PM
Clovis North is by far the best team in the Trac will they be able to go all the way with this class?

Clovis East looks better than I expected.

Central has the worst Defense in the TRAC. They can't stop the run or generate a pass rush

Clovis High won but they look ugh. Even though they lead the whole game they escaped with a win and thank god cause they really popped the bed second half.

Buchanan has issues on both sides of the ball. #bearwagon

Clovis West looked impressive. They will be number 2

Down 20-0 at half???? Is this another reason why on paper you can look great but on the field it's a whole different thing. A lot of ppl had them 1 because they had 4 D1 players. I'm curious on the thoughts about the Golden Eagles

Central Section Football / CMAC
August 21, 2023, 07:43:12 PM
Has the CMAC fell off as a whole? These scores are outrageous

Edison 64-24
Bullard 7-71
SJM 8-62

I don't see SJM winning any games until the CMAC this is really a reloading year. They didn't recruit very well this year.

Bullard talk about imploding and really struggling.

Edison very talented and poorly coached. The writing was on the wall when you seen the terrible coaching in the City VS County Game

WOW. Talk about old school smash mouth football. SJM completed 1 pass against Central. Central needs a whole new D line because them guys looked like swiss cheese tonight. Excellent game plan by Memorial. Buchannan exposed them, Clovis North exploited them and SJM took advantage of them. If they want to get back to any championship. They are going to have to run the ball and be able to stop the run!!

Central Section Football / The TRAC
October 22, 2022, 03:01:40 PM
From top to bottom its been anyone's game. Last night proved it.

Clovis North beating Buchannan. The Broncos are real physical and would beat you down 4 quarters.

Clovis High putting the hurting on East. They are very young and finding themselves. I see them as the most balanced team in the TRAC. Just young.

Central is still the most athletic team in the TRAC and when they are on, they are ON. If they can get a solid run game, Some additional offensive lineman watch out!

Clovis West. Is a head scratcher because their schedule is soft but they beat Buchannan, However since league play games were getting closer and closer. Last night was a reality check.

Clovis East is a weird one because they have the combination of both Clovis West and Clovis High. Meaning they are young and their schedule was kind of a confidence builder. They will be good in the future.

These are just my thoughts.

Central Section Football / WEEK 1 (TRAC)
August 17, 2022, 11:44:09 AM
Clovis vs Long Beach Poly - This one will get ugly really fast. Especially with Clovis High fueling the game on social media

Central @ Edison (Stockton)- The Grizzlies didn't look good at all but I still have them to win this game because its speed vs speed and Central has more.

Buchanan VS Bakersfield - This is not your grandfather's Drillers

Clovis West VS Ridgeview Welcome back CQ hopefully he can slow the bleeding.

Clovis East @ Dinuba - I don't know anything about East right now. I am hearing good things but I am going to go with the track record for what they do until TRAC play. They make waves non league and disappear when it really counts. Grab the wins where you can I guess.

Clovis North @ Memorial - This is actually my game of the week. If CN can keep the down and distance short for them on offense then they have a chance (Jacot has them looking good in the weight room) If they get into passing situations like last years teams they are in trouble. Low scoring game I have to go with SJM

Once again the Bears and Coach Gio find a way to not win. I didn't pick them to win because I personally thought they weren't as talented but I wanted to see the rematch with the Grizzles. I didn't think they had that game won either but they were able to take advantage on the Grizzlies mistakes. When is enough; enough and the Bears finally can get over the VC hump?

Central Section Football / 27 to 20 Central vs Clovis
October 02, 2021, 06:37:00 AM
What a great game to watch. Clovis might have Centrals number even though they lost. Central with a lot of mistakes to still pull out the game shows adversity and playing a tougher schedule than Clovis that they still believed even when they were down. I believe they had 2 TDs called back and 3 TDs dropped in the end zone. The Clovis High QB is something special. He made plays keep them in the game and you can tell Central feared him cause how they played him. Without #3 it might of been a major blow out. Next week is going to be a big week for both teams Bears VS Grizzlies.

Central Section Football / Weak Schedules
September 18, 2021, 11:22:25 AM
I am not surprised with Clovis high losing. Look their schedule. They played down in competition first 5 games. They are not battle tested and it showed. Same goes for North and East.

Sad times to see these programs in the dumps. What's worse is I don't see these programs getting any better anytime soon. What do you think it will take to turn these programs around?
I think one North is consistently losing the transfer battle in football. Whatever it is those kids do not want to play football there. Rumor mill is that they have no QB in the pipeline after having three just a year ago. (Mandel at Buchanan, Russo at Bullard, and their super freshmen to Memorial) Also in a short season they lose their OC and you can tell with that offense putting up 9 points in 4 games)

Clovis West, They lost their identity for what they were good at! Running the football! The coaches there aren't very good or young and they lack talent as well. West mistake or gift and a curse was passing up on Casey Quinn and letting him go to Central, however the gift is he might not have been there long term based on his track history.
I know I am not the only one who missing the TRAC glory days of dominate football throughout the conference.

Would love to hear Anthill's opinion and a lot of the other long running Cen Cal Prep vets.

Central Section Football / Tiger Power
September 24, 2019, 08:44:52 AM
With the Tigers getting their first win in double OT against Dinuba will they be able to continue the success? Are they battle tested cause of their TRAC NON league schedule? Will they win the CMAC?  I can see them beating Madera and Madera South. Memorial and Bullard will be L's and I have Sanger as a push. Let me know your thoughts

Central Section Football / Who would of thought?
September 22, 2019, 07:51:32 PM
I am surprised to see Clovis North 5-0. They really dont have an athlete that stands out or a game changer. However they play solid football and have great coaches. I still have them finishing last in the TRAC but intruiged to watch their season unfold.

Central Section Football / State of Emergency
September 03, 2019, 08:27:29 AM
I can easily see Edison going 0-5 before CMAC play. This team is bad and before everyone start pointing fingers at Central for the kids "transferring" out of Edison. Let's take a look at the coaching staff. I am rooting for the Tigers but it doesn't look good. It seems like they had more success without a football PE class and a middle school feeder program. Is it too early for a shake up?

As we are now approaching Spring ball. Football is in the air and fall is near. What are your early predictions? Who will be the seasons top dogs

D1
Central
Liberty
Buchanan

D2

Just my opinion and to get back into the football talk

Anyone watch the game that can reflect on what happened? It is hard for me to grasp that the most talented team in the valley not seeing the end zone. This will be a big week for the Grizzles.

Central Section Football / Liberty game shortage
November 03, 2015, 01:45:10 PM
With Liberty out a game will that hurt them if they were to lose this week? Do you give them a win since they were not able to fulfill the game Central backed out of? A lot of what ifs

Speaking to a few of my buddies who kids play at Central. Last nights win was a moral win I didn't expect them to win the game however they pulled it out. Good call on getting out of that Liberty. This game give the Grizzlies something to hope for again.
