After starting at Point guard on Sat. for Central Highs valley championship basketball team Jaylon drove straight to Las Vegas to join DB Guru's 7on7 team.  He helped Guru get to the elite 8 out of 120 teams.  He picked up his 7th (Oklahoma) and 8th (USC) offer last week.  This is the link Rivals.com did on him.

Baseball / Valley Championship at one site
May 25, 2014, 10:03:02 AM
I have to say I loved that event.  For the first time I got to see multiple divisions play for the title.  I have been curious about some of the players and teams in many divisions and got to see them in one venue.  I  got to have some great food in a city I don't visit much, and catch up with old friends from travel ball days whose kids play in different towns/divisions.  To finish the night with two colleges going at it was awesome.  The crowd standing and chanting during Gatewood's and Crowley's last at bat gave me chills.

It was great to see all of the athletes from around the valley repping their schools walking around with pride, seeing the yellow championship hats throughout the stands.

All in all, for a fan of valley sports I loved it.  First basketball now baseball.  Waiting for football!

Baseball / Central Baseball

I know they are not in the topic of discussion for the TRAC, but in a couple years they will be.  Last night I attended their first fundraiser dinner for baseball, and they had over 500 in attendance.  I have been to Clovis's and BEC's many times, but in Central for baseball this was unusual.  There is a new excitement over there with Prieto.  The district is making improvements to the field, training areas, and new score board is coming.   Bullard, CW, and BEC may lose some future transfers which has been happening in the past when it came to baseball in Central.
