Title: New league format
Post by: RayRea on April 25, 2016, 08:44:48 AM
I was looking at a couple of different leagues and was wondering if, how and when they re-align leagues?  The CMAC has teams ranging from D-1 to D-4 and that just seems silly to me.  Why not combine the Fresno area teams that are d-1 and D-2 to make a 10 team league and split it up into 2 divisions.  They should combine d-2 and d-3.  There is only like 10 teams in D-2.  I think that is ridiculous.  any thoughts?

Combine D-5 & 6. Bump upper D-5's to D-4. Same w/ D-4 to D-3 and D-3 to D-2.

Actually could probably eliminate D-5 & 6 ...

It's the money ...

There will be some re-alignment next year.  Leagues with an odd amount of teams will be forced to drop or add a team due to the fact that football will eliminate the Week 0.  Teams will now only have 10 weeks to play 10 games.  There will no longer be a bye week.

I'd love to see us switch to 8 team playoffs but I don't believe that's the plan.

But that would mean the regular season would actually matter.

i agree with that  bksflddan But  D2 D3 and D4 and D5    have 14 teams or 11 team tourny  in 1 Brackets  there

But  i agree total   8 to 10 Brackets be good Idea      Some top 1-5 or 1-6  always have bye  first round

Like Division 1  from 1 to  8 team brackets
Division 2   cut  11 of 8 team be tought to do    when  alots Low seed give  2 and 3 seed  tough games

Divison 3  have 15 of 16 Team brackets
Division 4   10 of 15  team went  1-6  got bye

Division 5   8 team went  from 1 team brackets

Divison   6    6  of  8 team went    2 Bye  in first round

why not  it be fair    it make the Regaulr season be Much Importment to win 7  game get  in

like  i say  it be tough go from 16  team bracket for d2 and d3 and d4  brackets

it be Nice If their Get rid valley champs and user Divison 1- 6    the top 32 team bracket better  in the state here

it like  last season State playoff  for Division 1-6 with A -AA and AAA- AAAA - AAAAAA  and Open division for Big school  like DSL

Like Hi sports ca did for top   8 Team  bracket for divisons let CIF decide the seed for top 32 Team Bracket for  State playoff

it take   5   week

3  week  Valley champs

2 week for state champs

if their went form 16-32 brackets it take 5 week   But CIF have deicde   it  after that friday last game  at Oct  or first week  of Nov

it like basketball tourny for state playoff

Grace Brethren (Simi Valley), 12-1, 17.8
Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth), 11-2, 25.9
Polytechnic (Pasadena), 12-1, 22.1
Arrowhead Christian (Redlands), 11-2, 19.2

But that would mean the regular season would actually matter.

Well the system currently in place is partially due to events like a 4-6 CW team getting selected for an at-large bid over two deserving 6-4 teams when it was 8 team playoffs.  Just so you are aware.
I think the over .500 in league or overall is as good as we are going to get.  Almost all districts save the TRAC use this rule.

Not my doing. I've hated it from the beginning.

We need to be clear, are we talking leagues or divisions. Don't get them confused.

Next year is the year for Division alignment and POSSIBLE league changes due to a few leagues with odd numbers of teams.  Most leagues will stay the same.

They need to get Bullard Edison and Sanger out of the CMAC.  Join the TRAC and make a "super conference"

or they remove the two Madera Schools. Add Lemoore and Hanford

Good idea - and also have Bullard & Clovis East switch.

I don't see Clovis Unified ever letting that happen.

I heard that there is going to be a new Clovis school soon. So that might force Central into the CMAC. Then maybe flop Madera South with Sunnyside. So then you'll have Edison, Central, Bullard, Sanger, and Sunnyside.

Gotta have even teams with the new season length or there needs to be a pre-arranged crossover with a 5 school league.

There is going to be a new High School in Madera in the next 5 years. Making both Madera and Madera South schools have fewer players.  It may be necessity to move all 3 school down to division 4 or 5. Only time will tell.

I've heard that Central High wil be split into two separate schools. Not sure if this means a new campus or not.

Rememeber    if a New School  Open 2021  then   we dont need Spilt thems up to Division 4-5 Place  until  the New school  Build and Coaches staff  for sports
Plus  Madera South   Play Division 4  already   in there

That new school  is years away from being a factor. My cows are pasturing on the location right now !!  There has been little to nothing done to that acreage  in the last 10 years since the cusd bought it (fenced / disked for weeds / grazed). Once they start it will take years to build the facility & more years for it to have a Varsity Program.
