Central Section Football / Hi guys
July 28, 2020, 09:23:10 AM
Just wanted to check-in with everyone.  Someone PM'd me and asked if I died, to which I replied, yes, a little bit every day since 1986.

Thanks for keeping the place on life support while I've been away.

Baseball / As of 8:00am today...
February 21, 2020, 09:42:47 AM
As many of you have noticed, the site has been hit and miss, down, slow, etc.  As of this morning, CenCalPreps has been migrated over to a new server. In a nutshell, this should mean a lightning fast site with no down time.

It is costing us a little more a year, so make sure to visit our "sponsors", tell your friends, or drop a donation to the link below.

Thank you all for making this place special,
Sergio.

So , didn't get an update out to y'all last weak on account of me being on Thanksgiving break, but here we are, ready to announce some winners.

As per usual, the VC's did not disappoint, although a lot of your picks did.  Let's start with D6 and work our way down.

Division 6
   - Shout out to the powerful Tanner Sneed for picking a perfect bracket from Round 1 to the finals.  Good thing the tie breaker wasn't needed as he didn't pick a final score.

Division 5
   - I suggest a new strategy R2, let the Wookie116 win.

Division 4
   - In D4, we had a tie between Nathan Claunch and Todd Noeske.  HOOOOOWWWEVVVErrrrrrr.  When asked to pick a final score, Ol' Nate Dog just put 26.  26.  That's it.  So, Shout out to Todd Noeske for picking his 2nd win of the tournament.

Division 3
   - We had another tie and, Yo Tanner.  Dog,  you were this close to picking up a second win, but guess what? You didn't pick a final score.  You know who did? Califootballfever did, that's who.  Congrats.

Division 2
   - Speaking of almost picking up a second win, Todd Noeske missed out by a single first round pick from tying it up with our returning 2018 D3 champion and 2019 D2 Champ, @PickSix.

Division 1
   - This year's king of the mountain and 2-time prize winner, again, @PickSix.  Just picked up a benny worht of prizes for your troubles.  My man.

Winners, pm me or email me [email protected]

Thanks for all those who played, thanks for a great year, now go complain about Basketball and soccer, the king of communist sports.

2019 CenCalPreps Bracket Champions:

Division 1 - @PickSix
Division 2 - @PickSix
Division 3 - @califootballfever
Division 4 - Todd Noeske
Division 5 - Wookie116
Division 6 - Tanner Sneed
8-Man - Todd Noeske

So, true to form, I'm going to Tarantino this thing, start from the end and work my way forward.  Why?  Because Santa Clause is watching, kids.

8-Man
  - Holy hell.  Just when I thought 8-man predictions couldn't get any more fuster-clucky than last year, the Preps goes and pulls the Joker.

19 Picks, 15 picked the winner.

But guys.  Jesus H.  The instructions were there, black and white, clear as crystal.  Pick a final score.  5 of you did not and 1 of you guys just put a number in there.  You know what? Screw it.  I'm salty here.  I lost by 1-point. The final score was 65-38, which means Todd Noeske is our 2019 8-man weiner with a final prediction of 58-31.  Congratulations.  PM me or email me, [email protected]

Division 6
  - There's a 4 way tie at the top with each of them having perfect brackets, but two of them didn't pick a final score, so they're already losers in my book.  The there are two dark-horses in this race who picked either Lindsay or Orosi to win it all.  Let's see it happen!

Division 5
  - When all the dust settled, the top 4 teams made it to the semis and as the the Macho Man Randy Savage put it:

There's a 4-way tie for 1st, The only outside shot we have here is the guys sitting in 8th who picked Stratocaster to take the ship.

Division 4
  - Ya'll some haters.  No one in the top 10 picked Kennedy to be in the finals.  I hope they show up madder than 1968 and rain on your parade. See what I did there?  As the kids say, OOF!

If Union wins out, Coach G wins big(ly)!

Division 3
  - Ladies and Gentlemen, we are gathered here today to pay respects to the championship hopes and aspirations of the Kingsburg Vikings and all those who's brackets are busted.  Long live Dave Steele.

I'm not even trying to make sense of this one, see me in a couple weeks.

Division 2
  - Coach G sits alone on top of the D2 mountain with the boldest of bold predictions: St. Joseph to win it all.  Realistically, anyone in the top 6 has a chance.

Division 1

  - In the "Runner up to Central" Bracket, there's a tie for 1st with 2 perfect brackets, one guy in the top 10 went out on a limb and picked Buchanabanana to upset the applecart.

Central Section Football / Friday night

Who's going where?  Thinking about taking a drive out. Clovis and Bullard looks to be this week's marquee matchup. Any suggestions?

Click each link to view the leaderboard:

Division 1
   - Out of 30 entries, only 3 Perfect Brackets Remain.  That's like, 10% or something.  Each of them has a different Semifinals/Finals, barring any major upsets, we have our front runners.

Division 2
   - There's only 2 perfect brackets, but D2 is a toss up salad.  Salad tossing, that's a thing, right?

Division 3
   - Thanks to the CIF and the decision making process, we have a division thinner than a pair of binging Olsen twins.  16 out of 23 brackets are perfect.  What the hell am I supposed to do with this?  And I get some of you people picking Bakersfield Christian to behead the Kingsburg, but who the hell picked Lemoore? Own up to this heathenism.

Division 4
   - Hey guys, I found a chuckle.  One guy in the 23 entries, one guy picked The 'Velt  to upset Templeton. lol.  sory.no.  Someone get the .22 and put 'The Wonder Dog' down.  That's not you, is it @whatahorse?

Division 5
   - In what is easiestly the mostest competitive Division in the section, we have ZERO perfect brackets. Two pickers sit atop with 6/8.  In third place, @Captain Insano picked Liberty to win IT ALL.  opps.  You know what they say, if you ain't first, ur last.

Division 6
   - 11 brackets remain perfect, but only ONE prediction calls for Orosi to win it all. I.Wonder.Who.It.Could.Be. MHHHHMMMMMMM.......I MIGHT know the guy  :D

8-Man
   - To quote myself from last year:

Quote from: Spazzilla on November 05, 2018, 08:35:13 AM
  - Ok, you guys all know how contest work right, like, you have to enter to play kinda thing?  Why on earth does the EASIEST bracket to pick have the LEAST amount of entries?!?!
There's 12 people tied for 1st, 12 out of 19.
This is a Grade-A Fuster-Cluck.
I'm disapointed in you all.  Really.
Brb, looking for @hsfan's hat...

Except this year, its 13 out of 19! We increased the Fuster-Cluck factor by 1!

So, new year, same tradition, same format as last year.

CenCalPreps Some-teenth annual Valley Championships pick 'em contest!!!!

WWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's simple:
1) Click the link below
  -

2) Register an account (top left) The answer to the question is 64.
3) Go back to the link above (logged in)
4) Click each division to predict each bracket.
5) Click "Predict It!" (Right Under "Bracket-Maker" logo, top left)
6) Select who wins by clicking the circle next to their name
7) Click "enter" at the bottom, repeat for each round through the finals.

Ok, so it's really not that simple, but, hey...

The website keeps track of who's winning, perfect picks, etc.  I just enter winners.

The only score you MUST pick is the championship game for a given division (This is the basis of the tie-breaker).

Tie-breaker criteria:
1) Picking the correct score.
2) Closest to the total points scored by both teams in the final game; without exceeding/going over the total points scored
3) Closest to the total points scored by both teams in the final game; regardless of whether the Entrant's predicted point total exceeded the total points scored.
4) Draw names out one of @hsfan's old hats (miss ya bud)

Rules:
1) One entry per bracket.
2) All entries due by Friday, 7pm
3) It's free, so, like no whining, snowflake.  If you think I'm wrong, talk to me about it, I'm fair.

Each bracket carries a $50 giftcard for the winner (Competitive-equity, lol's).
*Major Chains only, nothing obscure that I can't buy online
**(Teddy, again, no Déjà vu, sorry, but thanks to Iz, we can do City Lights)

You can enter every bracket and be eligible to win more than once (up to 7 entries total).

Any questions, ask, or figure it out.

Happy picking, you filthy bunch of animals.

Again, here's the link:
