Ok guys, much has been said about who would win a dream match up between the Apaches and the Drillers.  #1 vs #2.  Both have dynamic offenses and many weapons, however I feel that Sangers superior defense would be able to shut down the BHS attack. Others think that BHS SOS is enough to give them the #1 ranking? There is a lot to debate here, what do you think?

Tom Flores Stadium was electric this past Friday night for the section championship game.  The Apache defense once again drew a line in the sand and shut down Moya and Ridgeview.

Sanger vs  Serra looks to be a great match up.  While it is no secret Serra has lost to some Juggernaut teams, they also were never even close in those 4 losses.  Can the gritty tough Sanger Bangers get the job done?  I think so.

Any body have any better insight on Serra Football?

Central Section Football / Liberty vs Garces
October 19, 2016, 10:26:58 AM
Big game this week with huge playoff implications at stake.  Liberty needs to win the games they should (this is one of them) as they march to a season finally with Bakersfield in a couple of weeks.  Garces wants to show they are a real threat.  But nail bitters to 2-5 Centennial and 2-5 Edison have a few of us thinking other wise.  Yes they can score points but there defense is extremely suspect.  I see it being a close game for the first half, then Liberty will pull away in the second half.

**a loss here for Garces could move them from the #2 seed to possibly #4 or #5 depending if Redwood, Ridgeview and Tulare win out.

**Liberty needs to win out in order to hold on to the #3 seed for now and set up a show down with BHS

I'm taking Liberty 35-21

A lot of guys at work have been talking about this game.  Bullard is always tough, and Sanger never gets the respect they deserve no matter how good they are.  Last year Sanger knocked off the Knights when they were ranked #1 in the valley.  This year the Apaches come in with a red hot offense and the same steller defense as last year.  Bullard is the only team to beat the godly like Central Grizzlies and could easily be 4-1 losing super close games by only a hand full of points.  Lots of questions will be answered friday night.  Who is your pick

Lemoore head coach was suspended for a apparent hazing incident involving team players.  Incredible, one would think they would be a bit more focused going into a valley title game.  The end result, Lemoore's "Self Proclaimed" Best Defense get's carved up and served cold by Ridgeview!

After (POST GAME) a hard faught win over Sanger, Lemoore cheerleaders hold up a sign a 20x20 sign that reads "Tell your girlfriends you'll be free next Friday".  This lack of respect completely dampens the Tigers well deserved win and cast a black shadow that screems NO CLASS.  How EMBARISING for the town of Lemoore.

At first glance Ridgeview and Tulares undefeated records seem pretty impressive, but a closer look into there competition reveals  "UNDEFEATED IS NOT WHAT IT ONCE WAS". Lets look at Ridgeview first, projected 10-0.  However looking at there schedule you will see that out of those 10 games they have ONLY played 2 currently ranked top 20 teams, only 2 ? Sure one of them was a currently great Liberty team BUT when Ridgeview beat them they were a banged up handicap team that played with out all world QB Love.  Makes you wonder, would the red-hot healthy Liberty team beat Ridgeview? Max Preps power ranking suggest they would.  Also, they play in the SYL, but DO NOT play the only other good team in that division South who is 7-2.  Instead they got to play a 1-7 East Bakersfield.  MAX PREPS rates there SOS as soft 11.9

Now lets look at Tulare, potential 10-0.  Brace yourself, because it gets worse.  The Redskins take the cake.  Not only does there soft schedule ONLY have a combined 383% win percentage, they have played 0 teams that are currently ranked in the top 20.  Let me repeat that, they have played ZERO currently ranked top 20 teams....all season.  They were pushed to the limits and almost lost to a 2-7 Redwood team, and most recently escaped a loss to 3-6 Mission Oak. In addition a 2-7 Porterville team dropped 27 points on them.  There competitions combined win / loss records were at a lackluster 31-50.  Christmas came early for Tulare in this schedule.  I know, I know, you cant blame Tulare for there competition, its not there fault...yes yes, however in that same breath you CANT REWARD THEM EITHER. They also played zero D1 teams. Max Preps rates Tulares SOS at a laughable 7.8

And just for comparison purposes we looked at SANGER a potential 9-1 team.  Sanger on the other hand plays in a much tougher CMAC league that has 4 potential #1 playoff seeds, in Bullard D1, Sanger D2 , SJM D3 and Madera South D4.  Oh and don't forget defending DI champ Edison.  In there 10 game schedule they played 5 currently ranked top 20 teams and beat the #1 team Bullard.  Much stiffer competition.  Max Preps rates Sanger SOS at 18.7.  That's nearly twice as tough as Ridgeviews and nearly 3 times tougher then Tulares.

So the ranking committee has to ask themselves this....given the opportunity, how many other team's could have went undefeated if they got Ridgeview's or "more so" Tulares schedule.  I can name a few of the top of my head...Sanger, maybe Lemoore, how about Sunnyside or SJM? At least in the EYL.

Undefeated is not what it used to be.

Sanger made a statement  knocking off the #1 team in the valley last night and moves to 8-1.  Is this enough to take the #1 D2 seed from Ridgview?
