Central Section Football / Re: Future of the TRAC

I think that CUSD should have 2 High Schools. One at Clovis & one at Buchanan. Thats where the stadiums are ! Those 2 schools should be made up of 11th & 12 graders with feeder schools  for K thru 7 / Jr Hi's 8 thru 10 ( at least 2 /3 each) all feeding into the High School.  Make Herndon the boundary . Like  TULSA  Union High School in Tulsa Ok. With No transfers ! All local kids , It would fill both stadiums every week & turn both Clovis schools back to the Football Programs they NEED to be

I totally agree with you Teddy ! ? ! ? ! But the" clovis unified administrative team" will force an ALL cusd confrence just because the only thing they care about is TOTAL control _ except keeping every parent happy so they can move up to the next rung on the ladder.

Then don't have teams from different levels in the same conference  - make all conferences be  made of the same division & make the divisions up BEFORE the season - not after.

They both have an agenda. And will sell it to anybody they can get to listen - and pay for it.

Quote from: anthilllegend on April 02, 2024, 01:57:53 PMThe Antill is pretty sure the information imparted to Tee Shepherd was spot on and crystal clear.  Tee (who was at Central the time) wanted to leave early for Notre Dame but because Central had a higher number of units needed to graduate, he would not have graduated by December. He could have stayed at Central and graduated in June or transfer to another school that has fewer graduation/unit requirements.  He chose to return to Washington Union (his original school) where he had enough units to graduate early.  But, he ran into an eligibility issue (assume it had to do with a full family move) at "The Union" that nullified his senior season. He chose to remain at Washington Union and just attend school in order to graduate and leave for Notre Dame in January (of which he did). While he had the GPA and HS diploma in hand...(according to the ND site NDinsider.com) Tee had issues with a qualifying SAT/ACT score...and was forced to return to a JC (Holme Community College in Miss.). Tee then transferred to Ole Miss...and left the team after one season.  Tee was a great kid...who faced struggles with a hearing issue, that made verbal communications (on field) difficult, when adjustments and coverage changes were needed (pre-snap).  He was a magnificent "one on one" cover guy...but at the collegiate level, sometimes you have to jump out of calls via verbal communication.  In conclusion, Tee did not get bad information (the options were crystal clear)...and he, along with his family made their choice (go to the "Union" and sit out his senior season, graduate early and then leave for ND early).  No bad advice conspiracy theory here.

The Anthilllegend
Sounds to me like he was trained to bail out on every situation he ever encountered. I have NO knowledge about the situation but it sure sounds to me that he left everybody behind every time he thought he  would get something better out of it. Again - I do not know anything about the situation but when a guy  just keeps bailing out on his team mates it makes me question  his loyalty  2 anybody but himself. I guess thats  why I dont think I could  Coach these spoiled little kids these days

I have always hated C-Dub because when I started coaching at Clovis, they were the "new kid" in town with a chip on their shoulder & as they grew up, they became the GREATEST rivalry I've ever had since Mater Dei  PS - The DRILLERS also were HUGE  & Bullard & The Apache!! They used to have All Clovis week when we played & the Sat night before we had to go to a big shin dig at Horse World with people from both sides & both Coaching staffs - very stressful 4 a young warrior to make it thru !!! And then - EVEN WORSE - after the game we all had to go 2 an aftergame Gigg at Pete Mehas's place (the asst Super) ! ? ! ?!

Quote from: Sixtynine on December 22, 2023, 01:09:22 PMShoutout coach Nixon. One of the best to ever do it in this section.

I enjoyed watching his Liberty teams more than anyone else the past 12 years or so. Tough, hard-nosed, and extremely disciplined.

Football The way it's supposed to be played ! Thanks Coach ! !

It sure was . It was clear during pre-game but when we came out to play the fog was rolling in over the top of the stands & pouring on to the field. You could not see even half way accross the field !

Two Outstanding Football Programs - I'm going with the Broncos. Of course

The Clovis High Wildcats are from Clovis New Mexico & have an outstanding Football Program & transition. We played them in 96 & 97 . They beat us at Lamonica in 96, the only game we lost all year until the last 45 seconds of the Valley Championship game at Lamonica vs the Redwood Rangers. We beat them at there place the last play of the game in 97, the year we beat the BHS Drillers for the Valley Championship at Bakersfield City College. Great memories! !

Liberty did everything they could to not win the game... they jumper out to a big lead and then in the final two minutes of the half allowed 2 TDs, one that closed an 80 yrd drive then Liberty fumbles on the on their own 20 with under a minute. Clovis goes into the half down 26-23.
But they did figure out how to do the only thing that matters once you're in the play-offs Win the Game & stay alive. They can now address there issues & Go ON.
