Bakersfield is the top seed. Worst case a 2 seed if they were to lose next week. IMO

He's a point guard man not a shooting guard. Your views of "consistancy" are different then mine, but regardless the kid is the best pg in the section. And yeah a combined 50 points from those two and the other kids only combined for 14 which wasTyler Davis and Isaiah Bryson I think. Next time around if they have a couple other guys step up they'll probably get a W. And yeah both gyms are hard for the road teams to win at. Should be an exciting game none the less.

Quote from: Moore High School Hoops on January 24, 2011, 02:22:40 PMHave you seen this kid play at all? No motor?no jump shot? No Athletic ability? Well I guess you know more then Cal, USC, Arizona State, Stanford, and Washington...all PAC10s that have offered scholarships already.....He does have work to do, there is no doubt about that. But come on man...who doesn't as a Junior in high school
Take it easy there bud, "legitimate Pac-10 future college player right now" is a bit of a stretch....
First off, if you think a 6'7" - 6'8" center in high school is going to impact a team in the Pac-10 is highly unlikely. Being under 6'10" and with no motor, jump shot, and/or premiere athletic ability, not to mention passing and ball handling skills, is not going to cut it at any premiere Pac-10 school. Sure the bottom feeders of the Pac-10 may give him a shot, but only as a project. He's has a ton of work to do, this summer if he wants to make an impact at the next level, as a true fresh. or red fresh.
One thing he has going for himself is his stats. His stats should be off the charts because of the level of competition, but the best thing, he's still only a Junior,.......so he has time, not a lot of time, but time.
You have to think about it for a second, most kids are being evaluated to be recruited by their Junior year, usually no later then that. Also, do you really think he can out play and/or out big UCLAs Top recruit last year 6'10" Joshua Smith (McDonald's AA) who is having an avg to below avg year.... or how about Mid-Major San Diego St.'s 6'7" Kawhi Leonard, do you think he can compete with the likes of a NCAA All-American and leading Scorer of a top 5 team, mmmm......
I'm rooting for Grant, I hope he does get a shot at that level or any level, like I do every player from our section, but we gotta be realistic,......
By the way 6'9"- 6'10" Robert Upshaw from SJM is the best prospect out of this section, hands down...

I'm sorry but Sperling was not a D-1 basketball player. I don't want to bash the kid, but he fell into the scholarship because state was desparate. He is now where he belongs.
