Buchanan's non league schedule is embarrassing. Hanford, Lemoore, Porterville & probably the worse Bullard team since 2006. I think they're a good team but I'm not taking them that seriously until I see how they play against Liberty.

I'm really back and forth on Edison-CW. Edison has played CW really tough the last two years and those Tiger teams were worse than this year's.
If Edison can get going on the offensive side of the ball they can be extremely good.. If they want to have a chance at doing better then 5-5 they had better leave Steve Stephens in at QB

Well, in 2014-2015 Lemoore and Hanford went a combined 47-6 (and Lemoore had a 21-3 win over Buchanan in 2014).  Sometimes talent just dips at schools. Buchanan had no way of projecting those schools dropping in competitiveness.

They're a D1 school playing three D2/D3 in non league.  It's insane.

CMPunk

CW: Going to be a back and forth game, I see CW outlasting the Tigers.
SANGER: No contest. The spear stays at Sanger till maybe next year
BUCHANAN: Don't let the 46 points on SJM fool you, Buchanan is deeper than LHS
CN: If they keep it together
CLOVIS: CHS is going to embarrass Bullard
CENTRAL: This one is going to go either way.

True. But I don't really take the state championships here to seriously. The whole system is a joke.

It's nothing like Texas.

Sixtynine

Agree. The playoff system in our section is a joke. Too many divisions ruin it.
Just my opinion, but my opinion is right

Tell us about your knowledge around Texas playoffs? How many divisions do THEY have? How many games do THEY play to get to a state title game?

It's exactly like that Texas state playoffs (64 team bracket) the ONLY difference is that we don't know which bracket we are in until the state of California makes the placement.  In Texas, going into the season you know what division you are in.  But it is exactly the same other than that including the fact that there are 13 total divisions even though our state population is higher.  I'm usually on your side CW but you are dead wrong on this one. Sounds like sour grapes that you didn't get the chance to play under the current system.

MAYBE 1 division too many, that's it.

Sixtynine

Divisions 1 and 2 should be combined.

3 and 4 combined.

5 and 6 combined.
