Quote from: knightsrule04 on Yesterday at 03:12:42 PMThe kid I've been told is the top starter for Bullard (ASU commit) pitched the final two innings while someone else started, so I'm assuming they go with him. Last year Bullard threw their ace in the first round and got knocked out with their #2 in the quarters, so maybe they chose a different plan this year.

Heard the same.

Quote from: Timmy Winn on May 06, 2024, 11:18:58 AMYou think Buchanan is interested in CE's JV coach? Come on man. This is a big time HS job and I expect to see a ton of interest from all over.

He is a current varsity coach now

Quote from: SparkPlug on May 06, 2024, 08:51:07 AMI'm going out on a limb here, but i'm guessing they don't hire a coach without head coaching experience if the big leaguer with no head coaching experience didn't work.

Jake has spent a couple seasons as the Head JV coach.

Jake Humphrey interviewed originally I was told for the Buchanan High job. He would be a great candidate. Great young coach of East High. Connects with our players well.

Quote from: Closer on May 03, 2024, 09:12:34 AMDo we know who applied for the job last year? Getting a head coaching job so you can coach your son is a bad idea unless your son is born years after you became a head coach. Papi would be great for Buchanan. Like Smitty too but I don't think you can roll from one TRAC head coaching job to another right away. Labby is doing a great job with Red Sox scout ball and he should keep that going. Great development for the boys.

Have to agree here. Papi's presence in the dugout would be felt greatly.

Brandon Simon is another name. Edison High manager.

Great coach and a guy who is highly thought of. He has beat some really good clubs this year. From the area. Young guy.

To circle back to a previous name that was thrown around, I do not think Josh Labby would take it from what I heard at Buchanan High game last night. Would be a "conflict of interest" with him being a Red Sox scout.

One name to watch I have heard is..

Josh Labby - Red Sox scout. Has pro knowledge of the game. Kid is coming up through program. This would be a big time get. Make him say no.

John Gross - old pitching coach at Buchanan High. Coaching pitching at Bullard High. You make him say no.

Was not expecting that. Crazy.

Here is my coaching hotlist for the summer

Pat Where - proven this year why he is the best assistant in the valley. He and Kevin Patrick (aka KP) have them rolling. You make him say no.

Ryan Smith - one of the best around and an alum. Smitty does things the right way and will develop some young sluggers

Shaun Muesborn - Young and energetic SJM high coach. Has the bloodlines to go far. Will be end up being one of the greats here.

Jason Papi - One of the most storied coaches in CA. This one is a no brainer. Make him say no.

Derek Kuhn - He runs a great program and is a young coach. Has Liberty Madera Ranchos High on a roll.

Mitch Karraker - Fresno City College Manager. Home run hire if he wants it. Played at Buchanan High and would be a great fit. Make him say no in person.

Quote from: Crusader123 on April 18, 2024, 11:55:30 AMIm assuming it means the address listed was "inaccurate" or "incorrect". Or they have an address that is within the boundaries but someone found out the "full family move" wasnt a full family move lol

Seems like Buchanan High did not get their wishes to stop the CHS transfer.

Seemed petty in the first place considering a handful of Buchanan Highs players don't live where they say they live.

Does anybody know why he left Buchanan High? He seems to be having a monster year at the plate.

Buchanan High should get back on track this week against West High.

Steven Kertis has Buchanan High 4 spots ahead of West High in his rankings so I expect them to take the series.

Was at Buchanan High game and Fresno City College game yesterday.

Fresno City has a great club and are a fun team to watch. They have a lot of great local talent which is good to see. They will be a force.

Clovis High beat Buchanan High. 8-0 when I left. Talked to a local rival coach and said that he thought Buchanan High coaching, especially batting, was failing their kids.

Maybe their coach is trying to teach them like a major leaguer? Do you teach batting different at High school and college compared to major league?

Maybe OMS can chime in for that

Great Job to CN High for winning it all this week in the Spring Break Tourny.  They went undefeated and beat good clubs all week (Monday-wed).

Good to see CN High at the top again. I do remember OMS saying that they have been young lately. That is paying off for them.

Congrats Bronccos.

Good job to Memorial High for going down south and representing the Valley the right way.  SJM High also won it all in their tournament. They beat up some good southern section opponents.

Quote from: CleverUserName on March 20, 2024, 08:32:34 AMWhat in the what is going on over at Buchanan???  Seems like the a lot of transfers OUT not IN.

As with any coach, I think you need to give them time. First year. Just have to be patient until Gloss gets "his guys" in there. A lot of season is still left for Buchanan High.

Quote from: Timmy Winn on March 19, 2024, 08:08:55 AMThat would be awful about Georges. He's awesome. Barsotti at Clovis? That's wild too, they've got 3 solid catchers already. Embarrassment of riches.

Is that the son of former FSU great Mark Barsotti?

Quote from: tru guru on February 28, 2024, 03:30:13 PMMan, you sure called it!  After a blowout of a lower division team that was missing several starters still in basketball, the Bear Empire looks primed for a deep run in the D2 playoffs............

Out of curiosity, does anyone think Buchanan would celebrate a D2 title?  I mean, a VC in a new coaches first year is quite an accomplishment, right?  Do they hang a D-2 banner up there with the two Natty's and all the D-1 titles?  I'm gonna go with "No".

Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Give credit to Buchanan High.

Never been a fan of transfers. Usually teams will take players away from East High. Very unfair!
