It seems like they didn't have the candidate they wanted during the initial hiring cycle and that's why they "didn't have a teaching job". If they had their guy they would have created a job for him.

Whats crazy is that the Bakersfield Drillers dominated Buchanan and now are going to be two divisions below them and Buchanan may be the #4 team in the top division. Did Bakersfield self report themselves to forfeit and go down?

The crazy one is BHS and Tulare Union, they keep jumping each other in the computer number and Tulare Union has the loss to Hanford which may keep TU down in D2...

Another example of how a loss can be a good thing in this new system.

Redwood will stay in D2 and Golden West will move up to D2.

Quote from: ExCoach on Yesterday at 11:24:57 AMSomeone on here said they did not have a teaching spot available for the head coach. I agree, they need to bring in the head coach right away to build the program.
It's a Brand-New school! How do they NOT have teaching spots !?!?!???

Quote from: o-line on Yesterday at 01:21:21 PMMaybe someday a school district will fund a simple idea of a Coaches Academy along with creating a referee training Academy, who knows it may help the situation of lack coaches and officials.

this although a great idea would never happen school scarcely spend money on athletics. There are coaching clinics now but guys don't attend, for an academy of such to come to be you would need guys that would have to admit that they don't know. I was told years ago by a pretty successful guy that when you ask a successful guy for advise if he's truly good he'll happily help you 1. he doesn't see anyone as competition and two because he learned from someone else. Told it seems too many guys already know everything

Do you REALLY think Shafter and Wasco can beat Liberty? I doubt it.

Yes, I don't think Liberty is very good. They are poorly coached, morale is way down and they are not as deep as in previous years. I don't think that Central score is indicative of how bad Liberty is, I would guess without having watched the game that it was more Central making mistakes and or overlooking Liberty.

I think what so many people fail to realize is the days of having a full staff of coaches whom are on campus is long gone and most of the time there is not even a job to offer for a person to take a HC job. Principals don't hire coaches like they did in the past and the young coaches school districts do hire don't have the knowledge of how to be a coach as to earn their stripes to become good coaches. Maybe someday a school district will fund a simple idea of a Coaches Academy along with creating a referee training Academy, who knows it may help the situation of lack coaches and officials.

Quote from: Bud Kilmer on Yesterday at 11:05:33 AMI'd chalk that up to Central just having an off night.

It's that "A beats B, B beats C, C beats A" thing. Doesn't mean Wasco/Shafter can play with the big dogs, but Liberty is bad and inconsistent.

Liberty's a mediocre team that'll beat Stockdale, make the playoffs, and get bounced first round. They're the perfect example of why this two-D1 system is broken.

Agree. They shouldnt have it D1 is the only division with two brackets
