Why would Wilkins call a timeout to go score after Biggs calls the dogs off with 2 mins left what a wimp move.

Maybe it's because he thinks they may see each other again soon & might feel like he'll have a better chance of selling that we only lost by eleven points even though we spotted them two TD's off of turnovers right off the bat, gave them 30 yds in personal fouls to help keep another one of their TD drives alive & killed one of our own drives with another personal foul. Don't get me wrong, Central played a great game & the Cougars did not. Central earned the win!! Clovis can play better then they did on Friday & They need to understand that they'll need to next time. If they do - then they still have a shot at the ultimate goal !

So what you are saying is that Central should of kept the 1s in and went for 80 easily? There was no way Clovis was stopping Central offense. They dialed it up when they wanted and stopped the Cougars a lot!!! It was one sided. On all phases of the game. However I can see from the losers point of view to keep it close and use it as moral victory and support, but what if it was on the other end of the ball and Central kept letting it rain. Would you still be okay with the timeout with 2 mins to get a score?

Maybe he wanted to take in the moment he realized its been a decade since Clovis sniffed a TRAC Championship.

LOL I think you might be on to something. Down by 20 with 2 mins let me score again and so no one can say I got blown out and we are trying to win the TRAC

You right. Let it be on the other end and Central goes for 90 you guys would be crying bloody murder. BTW it was 54-28 with 6 mins left and he got the last two TDs with 2:55 and calling timeouts. Come on Karen. I guess it is good for one and not the other. Good old boy system

Not saying this is the case with Wilkins but some coaches coach the same way regardless of the score. It's always an attempt to make your team better in live situations.

Sounds like both points have some truth to them, what can not be disputed is Clovis hasn't sniffed a TRAC Championship in a decade with 2 D1 QB's.

Wilkins was coaching for his ego! Why not use those timeout and play to win when the 1s are in? I watched that whole game on tv when the ones were in he was extremely slow and trying not to give the ball back to Central. When the 4th hit and you clearly see the difference in kids with 5 mins left now you want to go fast and call timeouts??? Come on now. We dont believe it

The best Clovis school the last few years has just been whoever has the most fast kids from Fresno schools. With the exception of the year North had with Madsen. Will be interesting to see if it continues or if people start actually building up the programs again.

You are 100% correct the only clovis school that didnt have that was North with the exception of Sams who came from Edison and is a Central kid as well
