I grew up in Orange County - went to collage down there & began my Coaching carrier down there. I spent 6 years coaching at Servite before moving up to Clovis & coaching at both Clovis & Clovis North. I used to know all sorts of guys who I played with or coached with or both who made Orange County Football there life-work.  Most are retired by now. I believe that Ed Drazanek is still Coaching at El Modena HS (in Orange).

Hope that my msg might help. It's been over 40 years since I coached down there. I'll try to get ahold of some of the guys I know who spent their whole carriers Coaching Orange County Football & see what they have to say. The Huntington Beach District seems to still care about Football.  When I was down there Anaheim was still the public-school power in North Orange County. Half the guys on our Fullerton Jr Collage team were from there! And some guys from Fullerton Unified. The weather down there is WAY better then up here in in the San Joaquin Valley!! ESP this time of the year!!

Random - how long ago was that? Did you coach any of the Baggotts? Dave specifically (70s-80s I think)?

I played with Bill Baggott & coached all the other Baggott boys along with all the Kenlon boys. The Baggott's dad was a huge Booster for our program. I Coached at Servite from 1974 thru 1979 then came up here to Coach at Clovis from 1980 thru 2006. When they opened Clovis North, I moved out there & coached from 2007 until I retired in 2012

Oh, very cool. I worked for Dave for three summers broadcasting for the baseball team he co-owns in Utah (Bill is also a co-owner, I think). Good people.

I remembered Dave having played at one of the private schools in SoCal and saw one time a player on the other team had attended Mater Dei. I muted myself, opened the side window in my booth to the booth Dave was in (doing public address), and said, "Hey Dave, this guy went to Mater Dei. Didn't you go there?" He responded, angrily, "No, Servite!"
