Yeah, saying not taking seriously is unfair...maybe I should say I won't take them as seriously as I should. Your point stands. They committed 5 errors. You can overcome that against Sanger, Fresno high, Madera, SJM, etc. You can't overcome 5 errors against top teams.

It's been that way for 20 years now. So disappointing to see year-in, year-out.
BULLARD KNIGHTS FOOTBALL: 2009 VALLEY CHAMPIONS!

Bullard Knights baseball: 5 Major Leaguers, 7 Valley titles, 4 CA titles, 1 CA runner-up, 2 National titles, 2 National runners-up, 1 5th place finish in the nation.

Bullard Knights softball: 5 Valley titles, 2 CA titles, 2 National titles.

Old man scout

In my many years of watching High School baseball most late round games are given away as opposed to being won kids get over excited and can't deal with extra pressure and excitement there is no way to practice this that's why you hope they hit the ball to a senior. Last night the wild pitch really set up the error. In the end these are kids. It's just tough.

Championship game is set  1 vs 2, best in the TRAC facing the best from Bakersfield: Clovis West vs Liberty. Looks like Liberty has been scoring a lot of points. Should be a good game.

CWClassof2007

Jake Turley pitching for Clovis West & Chance Gerecke for Liberty.

In the top of the 1st Liberty strikes out, flies out to right, back to back walks & then a fly out to right.

In the bottom of the first Clovis West was very patient at the plate. Two walks & three hits later they have a 3-0 lead.

CWClassof2007

Top of the 3rd for Liberty
A single, walk & error score a run. Then a three run home run gives Liberty a 4-3 lead. After a strike out & single Clovis West being in Brody Santos.

CWClassof2007

Bottom of the 3rd Clovis West plates three runs to go back up 6-4.

CWClassof2007

Top of the 4th Liberty goes down in order with two strike outs & ground out to short stop. Brody Santos definitely has more control than Turley did to start the game. Liberty guys seems to be swinging for the fences on every pitch.

Bottom of the 4th
Liberty brings in Evan Churchman. A quick inning for him with a diving play by the third baseman, ground out to first base & another back to the pitcher.

CWClassof2007

#48
Top of the 5th
A infield hit & a double puts runners on 2nd & 3rd. After a hut by pitch Tyler Patrick comes in a try to close this game out for Clovis West. He started the games as the DH. 2 run double ties the game. On a ground ball the short tries to pick off the runner who was off third base. He's called safe. Next batter hits a sac fly to centerfield to give Liberty the 7-6 lead. A wild pitch moves the runners to 2nd & 3rd. After a strikeout CW intentionally walks Brock Thompson to load the bases. Grant Voss singles to drive in 2 more. A strike out ends the top of the 5th. 9-6 Liberty.

CWClassof2007

Nothing for Clovis West in the bottom of the 5th inning.

CWClassof2007

Nothing for both teams in the 6th inning. Evan Churchman has shut down Clovis West since he came in.

CWClassof2007

Liberty 9 Clovis West 6 Final

how times have changed... there was a time when CW won about 80% of the valley titles available. the last three D1 baseball titles have been won by Bakersfield teams: Stockdale, Centennial and Liberty...last TRAC team to win a title was Buchanan in 2021

The 2004 section championship team is only one the school has won. 5 of the 6 teams since were #1 going into the playoffs.
