It appears JGHG is looking for another coach for the upcoming season. Will be interesting to see who they go with because it's close to go time. Here's my list..

1. Jason Papi - Fresno High manager...Papi is one of the best coaches in this area. Already in Fresno so the move wouldn't be a far one. His resume speaks for itself. You make him say no.

2. Brandon Simons - Edison High manager...one of the top up and coming coaches in this area. Same with Papi...already in Fresno. Take him to lunch.

3. James Humpfree - East High...although he will likely end up at Clovis South High, there is potential you could steal him away from Clovis Unified. Young/energetic/driven. You at least kick the tires.

4. Shaun Hana - Ex West High staffer. One of the best around. I could see it.

5. Derek Kuhn - Liberty Madera Ranchos High manager. Resume speaks for itself. It could be time. Offering a job on such short notice is always dicey. We'll see. Get him in the office.

6. Coach Cortez

7. Jamo Smith - ex west high eagle. Hitting guru. Younger guy who can establish presence at the plate. Not currently on staff anywhere so this could be a call you make.

8. DT Pitching - Buchanan High pitching coach. Great opportunity for DT to grab the reins of a program with his expertise on pitching.

9. JD Sells - Clovis High manager...likely too late into the semester for this one to be realistic, but if you're serious about building a program, you make him say no. Period.

1. I will go ahead and bet the house that Papi, Simons, JD, and Kuhn have ZERO interest in this job. 2. Some others on this list would never be willing to coach in West Fresno. (Read into that comment as much as you want ;) )
3. "Make them say NO" is a waste of time when you dont have the resources to "Make them say yes" in the first place

Garza has some of the nicest facilities in the Central Valley.

Timmy Winn

The 'make them say no' thing is hilarious because you know how you make most of the guys on this list say no? Ask them...most will say 'no'. So I guess in a roundabout way you are exactly right. They'll say no. The 'take him to lunch' addition is solid though. I think Simon might make the leap for a full bull sandwich. Make him say no

BallGuy

Anyone that anyone can think of to take this job is simply overqualified.

Backstop

I light of recent history, the administration at JG is likely going to find it tough getting any applicants, let alone highly qualified ones.

It's sad for the kids and the program. Rothford seemed to have them pointed in the right direction, too.

Timmy Winn

Yeah JG baseball program is a mess all around. Admin is garbage, the parents are a little unhinged and the players are living in baseball purgatory with nice facilities and no one to lead them. I don't know who really wants that job. I know plenty of guys who could do it, but I can't imagine any of them being truly interested. Now the Clovis south job...that'll be coveted.

Old man scout

Just in off Pagmeter David Griffin is the interim Coach David is a baseball guy who played at Fresno City then Fresno State then drafted by the Reds. Quality person will run a good program.

You have to be trolling suggesting any of those guys would consider this job after what that administration has done to the Gus who've been there.
