Haven't seen much talk on here about the upcoming season so I'll kick it off. CalHi just released their preseason top 35. The central section teams that made the rankings are:

14. Clovis West
27. Frontier
28. Clovis
33. Liberty

Buchanan is one of the teams on the bubble. Thoughts?

The TRAC should be excellent this year. Clovis will be tough to beat. Clovis North is probably the biggest, strongest team they've ever had. Buchanan, once again, picked up a few transfers (a big one from CW) and CW has a nice top of their rotation. I don't know much about CE or Central. I wonder if CalHi factored in the transfer from CW to Buchanan? Because it's hard for me to see CW that high early in the season with the big departure.

Central will be good, with their apex being next year. Probably not a threat at the top, but will be a pill to play

Clovis North will be an extremely tough team to beat in a series

Buchanan is very senior heavy with a lot of experience to lean on. Having Fontes back will definitely help

CW lost graduated a lot of their top contributors and losing AP hurts. Santillan up the middle and at the top of the rotation is a solid foundation

Clovis High's rotation is a question mark, not sure what georges will look like and besides Kasten there's nothing blowing anyone away. Having a rotation of Rose, Davis, and Barsotti is a great problem to have.

Central will be gritty as usual with Nolan anchoring the middle of that lineup. I'm not sure what they have to offer on the mound as well.

CE is senior heavy but there are a lot of unproven's in the lineup as well as the rotation. Only a few returners who logged serious innings in the field and on the mound.

TRAC should be a juggernaut once again, hopefully one team can finally unseat a Bako team for the D1 section championship.

I think Efird will have a solid year for CHS and provide some stability to their rotation. I heard Georges will be throwing at 100% sometime in March and the plan is to use him out of the pen...at least initially. Clovis probably has the most question marks but also the highest ceiling. If I'm picking league finish today (which is a fools errand) I'd go.
1. CN
2. CHS
3. BUCHANAN
4. CW
5. CENTRAL
6. CE
