TRAC football is an interesting event this year. I don't see any team standing out and all teams with much weakness.

Let's start out with the non-Clovis school, Central. Their offense once again is high powered with Kyle Biggs leading the way as your shot caller and the best player in the section with Brandon Smith. I been to two of their games and they can score fast with all 6 players being weapons. The crazy part about them is they are still YOUNG. Leading wideout Bayon Harris is only a JR, Titus Thomas and Kevin Cooks both being Sophomores. Their Seniors are EJ Morgan who is extremely dangerous and Zeb White who is long and will cause defenses problems.  Now their weakness will have to be their first year DC. The defense is TERRIBLE. They can't cover, tackle and can barely line up. This is going to be an issue going into the final stretch of the season. They are going to have to adjust and fast if they want to play in late November.

Clovis West, this team is very young. They are going to be a team to fear but not this year. I had the luxury to attend their games and the first thing that stood out to me is JJ Howard and RJ Jefferson. From there on there isn't much else. Their defense is solid, but they are small in the trenches. I feel Clovis West is about a year out from winning the TRAC and playing for a championship. I heard him on a podcast stating that they are back. I would Definity say they are from the grave but not a championship contender. Next year they will load up on a ton a transfer. YOU heard it here first. Clovis West might be my top team in the TRAC and section come 2026.

Clovis High, this team is weird. They aren't very good, but they have the best QB in the area on the team. The problem is they have zero threats.  Rose for two years has weapons which transferred into them, but they don't know how to use them. Maddox Merrill is okay and helping lead the charge, however I believe their best back and most explosive is James Curoso. Briggs really doesn't mix well with the offense from what I seen, other WRs go both ways and tend to gas out.  Their defense is a bend but don't break philosophy they have a lot of two-way starters. They haven't really played anyone that challenged them. The Frontier game they were missing Briggs, but I don't think he would have changed the outcome. Wilkins is on borrowed time because you have the best quarterback in the section, transfers come in the last two years and 0 section championship appearances.

Clovis East, they graduated TONS of transfers last year and this year they are playing with the remaining ones left and their homegrown kids. The have a completely new coaching staff and a slightly different offense. The offense is struggling it is okay though because they are playing to keep everything close and eliminate the mistakes. Jamie Spurgeon is only a JR, and he is going to be an issue for a lot of teams. He protects the football and can extend plays. The problem is he is also the leading rusher. Graves has been out, and I don't see another rusher helping Spurgeon out. The good thing is Graves will be returning this week and should give the offense an extra spark. There are no WRs that stand out, but they all contribute by committee. KRob will get them ready to go in TRAC. Look for them to explode against Clovis West. Now the defense is scary good. This is the best defense in the TRAC, and they are physical. They cause turnovers and play fast. Kalen McCoy, Geno Capriola, and Cordae Colbert are playmakers. Expect this team to be something like the old school Baltimore Ravens with Ray Lewis. Great defense and mistake free on offense.

Buchanan Their most impressive win is the Liberty game. They lost to Bakersfield. They don't look good on offense. Their defense is okay for Division 3 and lower IE Kennedy, Edison and Paso Robles. I don't have much on them. They to me will be the worse team in the TRAC. I can see them going 6-5 again with that soft schedule. Remember last year this team started 5-0

Clovis North, I like this team a lot!!! They are still physical. They can still run the football and now they have a passing game. Lucas Smith is the man! He can throw, run and there is a certain moxy about him that is unmatched. J R Cruz looks great and runs like Madsen and Cinfel but with some wiggles. Sims is the deep threat they been missing and now giving him more options and balls compared to last year. He is scary fast. The defense is a question mark but they are really good. I believe outside of Clovis East they are the second-best defense and will cause havoc for everyone.

First time posting but have been enjoying some of the takes for awhile.
This is a fair assessment of the TRAC.
A couple things:
I've heard is that Merrill is out for thr season for Clovis. Carso is doing a great job filling in.
Geno Capriola from CE broke his collarbone against Grant.
East has also been without one of their top DB's Taevionne Horton all season.
Tristan Kircher SS/LB is a two guy for them and is leading the team in tackles.
Sounds like Central is a little banged up and Smith was seen in a walking boot at the CN Fronteir Game.

I am basing off all the games I seen. That is great Kircher leads the team in tackles but the games I was at he wasnt one of the ones that impressed me. I didnt mention Horton cause of that reason.

Buford, Can I just say I love the moniker!!! "Give me a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper, I'm in a g*d damn hurry!"

trac_baseball

Agree with most of what you said but to say CHS has no threats is not true.
