1. BCHS
2. THE Bakersfield High School
3. Frontier
4. Shafter
5. Wasco
6. Liberty
7. Kennedy
8. Independence
9. garces
10.North

garces @ BCHS- BCHS is a much better team than the teams garces has played up to this point.
Independence @ THE Bakersfield High School- The Drillers have too many weapons
Centennial @ Frontier- this will not be close

Wasco @ Shafter- Now its the game of the week. Big rivalry game, both teams 8-1, league title on the line. I almost went with Wasco because Shafter has a history of stumbling in the big game, but I think Shafter is the better team. This will be a battle.

Liberty @ Stockdale- Stockdale is a jv team unfortunately.
Kennedy @ Chavez- Kennedy would crush Chavez
West @ North-

Tevor Horn was talking about how Frontier and Liberty should be higher cause they played the two toughest schedules in the area. I wont disagree with that but Frontier has yet to beat a quality D1 team and Liberty has been bad since the exit of Nixon. He always played up without an excuse

TeddyKGB

Trevor Horn should realize that playing tougher opponents and getting beat up by them doesn't get you anything.

BCHS/Frontier common oppoenets:

Highland-  BCHS (W) 34-0  Frontier (W) 41-20
Stockdale- BCHS 47-0      Frontier     49-6
garces- BCHS play this week Frontier 27-13

BCHS/Liberty
Indy- BCHS 24-14  Liberty 17-10
Stockdale- Liberty plays this week

vs common opponents BCHS seems to have the edge. The only quality win Frontier has is against Clovis.

garces @ BCHS- BCHS rolls and from the sounds of it, Garces is out an OC (strictly hear say)
Independence @ THE Bakersfield High School- Drillers roll
Centennial @ Frontier- Frontier by 40

Wasco @ Shafter- For league title and I'm going to go with Wasco. Shafter is explosive, but I don't think they are very physical and four quarters of smash mouth football is going to win this one. Coin toss game, but I'll take Wasco 41 Shafter 35

Liberty @ Stockdale- Watch Liberty only win by 21 still
Kennedy @ Chavez- Kennedy has some questions to be answered. They gave up 21 to an awful Taft team. Don't care how or when, you don't give up 21 to Taft and feel good about going into post season. This team may be set up for an early exit. But they win nonetheless this week.
West @ North- Look for West to keep this close. I want to go for West, but North has a lot of momentum right now.

I considered picking Wasco but I don't care for the arrogance of their fans, I find them to be insufferable. When they came to Griffith Field back in 2013 so pompous it was very similar to the attitude the CW fans had back in 07. The difference being the CW fans had played and beat the Drillers before and they traveled down 99 in Landrovers and Denalis not 1999 Chevy Suburbans with oil leaks

I've listened to their coach interview a few times and he seems very down to earth and gritty. Don't know much about wasco fans, but I'm pulling for the Tigers now. It seems like in a world of spread and RPO they are trying to keep smash mouth football alive.

Teddy...

Do you REALLY think Shafter and Wasco can beat Liberty? I doubt it.

I think it's closer than you think.  That's not speaking highly of Wasco/Shafter either, Liberty is not good.

The Central score blows my mind based on that...

Bud Kilmer

I'd chalk that up to Central just having an off night.

It's that "A beats B, B beats C, C beats A" thing. Doesn't mean Wasco/Shafter can play with the big dogs, but Liberty is bad and inconsistent.

Liberty's a mediocre team that'll beat Stockdale, make the playoffs, and get bounced first round. They're the perfect example of why this two-D1 system is broken.

Agree. They shouldnt have it D1 is the only division with two brackets

Yes, I don't think Liberty is very good. They are poorly coached, morale is way down and they are not as deep as in previous years. I don't think that Central score is indicative of how bad Liberty is, I would guess without having watched the game that it was more Central making mistakes and or overlooking Liberty.
